I don't think so. Even with being able to remote play with the ps4, it still cost quite a bit extra. The vita seems to serve a niche crowd.

its already almost dead

For a dead system, it sure is seeing quite a bit of support.

Just for the next 2 months off the top of my head we got Tearaway, Valhalla Knights 3, FIFA 14 and Ys memories of Celceta coming. Recently, Rayman legends, Killzone mercenary, Atelier Meruru plus. This just off the top of my mind. I'm sure theres more.

Theres also several high profile indie projects im looking forward to next year, like Liege and Soul saga. Theres freedom wars, Toukiden, Soul sacrifice Delta and Gravity Rush already confirmed plus whatever gets brought over from Japan.

For a dead system, that isnt bad at all.

All those games didn't sell to well though.

I would say if many things go right for it the Vita can manage as a niche system with solid base of support in Japan.

I do think it will be Sony's last dedicated hand held though.

Fine, then we'll see it for 15 more years. ^_^

I don't think any system is ever really completely doomed. There is no inherent reason that the 3DS should be selling better than the Vita based on hardware alone. The Vita has a better screen, better specs, and is the same price as the most popular 3DS SKU (atm). The two screened configuration and clamshell have their advantages, but at the same time, the Vita has dual analog. The only difference is in software support, so if Sony could get software support (and quality) to the same level as the 3DS, there is no reason it couldn't succeed. The install base may be too hard to overcome now, but the Vita could certainly improve its position.

That being said, Sony either lacks the desire or the ability to put out portable games with the consistency and quality of Nintendo. Sony just doesn't seem to treat the Vita as a priority, and until they do, the Vita is not going to succeed.

Well since Sony is putting more focus on ps4 and ps vita tv, I don't see that happening anytime soon, and it doesn't help that they're not advertising it as an off-tv gamepad :(.

But hey, what do I know? Anything can happen.

Oh... I'm plenty biased :).  Love Nintendo, really don't like Sony.  But, any idiot knows that software sells hardware.  As complicated as some users try to make things, it's pretty simple.  Good games + right price + adequte marketing means your system will sell.

Yes I expect great things from the Vita family.

I do however think Killzone is its last large scale game. From this point forward I believe that crowd will be served with remote play. Smaller games however should thrive on the system even if most people pick it up just for PS4 games.
