dedicated servers are a beautiful and rare thing

X1 GPU:
1.18 TF GPU (12 CUs) for games
768 Shaders
48 Texture units
16 ROPS
2 ACE/ 16 queues

PS4 GPU:
1.84TF GPU ( 18 CUs) for games + 56%
1152 Shaders +50%
72 Texture units +50%
32 ROPS + 100%
8 ACE/64 queues +400%

I wonder if those beautiful dedicated servers will improve the power difference?????????????????????????????????? Cloud Powoah!

GPU power is a beautiful thing

Have fun playing offline titles.

This again? Its not per to per. It runs much like killzone 2 did. It will be smooth.

He's quoted as saying that one PS4 is picked to host based on its connection quality. What if the person whose PS4 gets picked decides to leave the match half-way through? This seems like the same thing COD has, but his verbal trickery makes you think otherwise.

No. The ps4 is just running the math. Sending it to the server and the server sends it to all players. So no host advantage.  It will fell like a "true" dedicated server. Where cod the host decieds whats true and sends the infromation to other players in a daisy chain fasion. While getting the info before anyone else. Two different things.

You do realize that only 14 of those CUs will actually be used for rendering.  The other 4 will be used for GPGPU purposes.  So, the actual performance difference won't be whatever 50%+ number you decide on.

Also, the Xbox One has 6 CPU cores available to the games, the PS4 has only 4 as the PS4's CPU is split into two.  While the CPU doesn't have an impact on pixels, it does have an impact on frame rate.

Finally, if you believe the PS4 is dedicating 1.84TF to the game then you're subject to wishful thinking.  While I doubt it'll be 10% like the Xbox One uses towards Kinect, there will be a portion of the GPU dedicated to the OS because the OS is still running in the background.

That said, stay on topic.  This thread isn't about the hardware differences.  It's about Killzone having dedicated servers or not.

At leat get your facts strait.  The 14+4 thing is bullshit.

I find it funny how people now seem to care wich technology is used to online gaming.

Who cares really? If it works, it works. If it doesnt work the publisher will feel the backlash in sales. Given how CoD has been so popular and seems to not be using dedicated servers, i fail to see the point of this argument. Its gamers trying to think they are developers and picking something to hate on. Its incredibly boring.

That is why I said pretty much.

Ever major AAA game will have dedicated servers on Xbox One.
Heck even most launch and launch window games do support dedicated servers already.

And why do you try to downplay cloud and dedicated servers is beyond me.

Probably for the same reason you bring XBO related stuff in a Killzone Shadow Fall thread.

I mentioned a lot of games in that thread for comparison. Some are multiplats and some are exclusives.

You're the first one here who brought the XBO into the mix. And then you complain about Sony people who mess XBO threads.... -__-

oh, misunderstanding then. I thought you meant this post and thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5710420

And yeah, I was the first one responding to someone who said that dedicated Servers are rare and told him that Xbox One will have them.

This is exactly the same like in every thread about resolutions and XX FPS - People compare different games on different plattforms.
Or whenever specs of one console are released they are instantly compared to the specs of another console.
Of course people will also compare the online infrastructure and cloud functions of the consoles. Why not?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Incredible that after being called to show that PS4 use 4 CUs to GPGPU and couldn't prove it (where contradicted by a Mark Cerny statement that developer would be able to choose how much they wanted to use for each thing, MAYBE 4 CUs were just a advice) you still use the same biased view for PS4... like PS4 is poorly developed and X1 is the best balanced ever, so yeah pretty much what you believe is reality.

How do you know every game will have dedicated servers??? MS are gonna rent companies their servers cheap. They aren't giving them free for every game. So that doesn't mean every comapny or game will use them.

Hopefully cloud power might improve the X1 perfermance too??????

Pigs might fly!

Classic defense, belittle then drift off topic asap.

Dedicated servers will be more prevelant with ONE games.  Fact.

It cannot be fact as the systems are not even OUT.

AND, no one will even notice KZ2 and 3 ran beautifully, as do pretty much all onlines games with or without dedicated servers.

Sony seems to be in a effort for the PS4 to be just more powerfull and simple PS3.

You again with this mis-information., You realise everything you said here has been disproven and is total Drivel right? Totally false, nice try. Where is that dGPU man?
