dedicated servers are a beautiful and rare thing

X1 GPU:
1.18 TF GPU (12 CUs) for games
768 Shaders
48 Texture units
16 ROPS
2 ACE/ 16 queues

PS4 GPU:
1.84TF GPU ( 18 CUs) for games + 56%
1152 Shaders +50%
72 Texture units +50%
32 ROPS + 100%
8 ACE/64 queues +400%

I wonder if those beautiful dedicated servers will improve the power difference?????????????????????????????????? Cloud Powoah!

GPU power is a beautiful thing

Have fun playing offline titles.

those are mostly what I play lol.  Also I never had a problem connecting to games and playing smoothly on Killzone 2 or 3 or Uncharted or Resistance or really any game since I improved my internet mid way through the gen.  I've played on both online and notice no tangible difference.  People always talk about how we won't notice spec differences but I'm starting to think this dedicated servers thing isn't any bigger of a deal than specs because BF3 didn't play any smoother than COD for me.

I love looking at the people fight in the comments.

OT: Doesn't really bother me wether the game will have dedicated servers or not. I don't have to much of a problem with online gaming.

exactly COD and BF have played the same for me in the past

Sony seems to be in a effort for the PS4 to be just more powerfull and simple PS3.

?x1 is just a more powerfull 360...............

The ps4 has many featuers that PS3 doesn't..

PS3 was a better media box then 360. PS4 will be capable in that area as well. Try again.

Microsoft seems to be in the effort to finish behind Sony again.

Ok, you can say whatever you want, Killzone still dosen´t have dedicated server or any other next generation feature.

?? Neither does any X1 game. Dedicated servers are next gen? They have been around for 15 years, MAG ahd dedicated servers on PS3. LMAO.  Keep grasping at straws it's hilariuous

lol now " dedicated server " are a object in the console wars ?a thing that have almost no impact in your experience? never had a single problem in any ps3 online title that didnt have those nut now its a system seller lol.

keep fighting the good fight !?!?!!?

lol this thread just proves that not only ps3 fans go downplay the "enemy " console like some people here vomites all the time in the forum

it and "the cloud" became a talking point when it was made clear that PS4 was the more powerful, less expensive, more consumer and devloper friendly console with more exclusive studios that have more experience and better history of releases (all the things that mattered this gen except 360 had price and dev friendliness and arguably exclusives until 09 so they only mattered then).  Now it's "only third parties are popular" and "we won't notice the specs" or "$100 isn't enough to sway"

Well on PS4, yes.
Pretty much every game on Xbox One will have dedicated servers.

How do you know every game will have dedicated servers??? MS are gonna rent companies their servers cheap. They aren't giving them free for every game. So that doesn't mean every comapny or game will use them.

Hopefully cloud power might improve the X1 perfermance too??????

Pigs might fly!

Classic defense, belittle then drift off topic asap.

Dedicated servers will be more prevelant with ONE games.  Fact.

It cannot be fact as the systems are not even OUT.

AND, no one will even notice KZ2 and 3 ran beautifully, as do pretty much all onlines games with or without dedicated servers.

Awesome logic.

The sun hasn't come up tomorrow yet. But I'm pretty sure it will.

But if you want to go that path, please don't make any definitive statement about the ps4 until it releases. Thanks.

PS3 games had dedicated servers. They have been around for over a decade.....99% of players would never know or care. it's a good thing sure...but hardly  a big deal.

Has nothing to do with the sun coming up, dedicated servers have been around for a long time LMAO.

having dedicated servers makes a big difference because the person with the host server always cheats. or if he leaves the game u have to wait couple mins for a new host

This again? Its not per to per. It runs much like killzone 2 did. It will be smooth.

He's quoted as saying that one PS4 is picked to host based on its connection quality. What if the person whose PS4 gets picked decides to leave the match half-way through? This seems like the same thing COD has, but his verbal trickery makes you think otherwise.

Then the match continues on, just like it did in Killzone2. No, I'm serious. It wasn't uncommon to see "Host has left" in Killzone2 and the match simply continues on.

He says straight up that your PS4 runs your own logic. Aside from that minor difference, the game has dedicated servers. "Killzone Shadow Fall has dedicated servers hosted in various regions around the world. These servers do not run the logic of the game – they only act as a hub between the clients, forwarding network traffic from one player in game to all other players in game." Everyone is still connected to the servers if the host leaves. Seeing as it wasn't a problem at all in KZ2, the game probably just picks a new session master too quickly for anyone to notice any issues.

This is not the issue lol People leaving the game and having to migrate the host is cool; but it is more about having the advantage of being the host and the possibility to cheat.

It is maybe not common but it still leave room for the possibility which is annoying.

Yes they are... This is what they mean by "for every Xbox One out there, dev. will be able to use 3 vCPUs from their servers".
So virtually for every game out there, they can use these 3 vCPUs to host the game servers. Of course it is up to the developers to use that or not; but it is available for free and out of the box.

Don't have any quote from MS saying they are free to use to all developers.
