Forums - Sony - Killzone Shadow Fall doesn't have dedicated servers!!

Bad news for the ps4!! All the guys that keep complaining about Sony fans flooding their forum flock to the thread to rejoice lol
OT:I bet this is like war hawk were Sony was using dedicated ps3 as their host ''server'' console on their fast connection and most importantly with no lag

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

It's funny. I read that and thought it sounded awesome. That's just fantastic for someone like me with a slower connection. It will make the burden on the connection very light.

Then I read the comments. "Dedicated servers" really has become quite the buzz phrase, hasn't it? It doesn't matter how good a solution might be, all many people know or care about is "dedicated servers!"

KZ3 ran beautifully for me. I was honestly amazed, as I have a sub 3Mbps connect. I almost never had any issues. What am I supposed to do, though? Am I supposed to say, "this might run perfectly for me but I want dedicated servers! Rarr"? I think real-world performance is the most important thing.

Also, the title is just flat-out untrue.

Don't play online... But as the the last posters said what matter is if the setup works or not... if you have a problem playing online (what most of the people complaining here won't even try) than you can complain at your heart content.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Man, it only took like 3 post before fan boys started attacking each other. We are getting really good at looking really damn dumb.

dedicated servers are a beautiful and rare thing

X1 GPU:
1.18 TF GPU (12 CUs) for games
768 Shaders
48 Texture units
16 ROPS
2 ACE/ 16 queues

PS4 GPU:
1.84TF GPU ( 18 CUs) for games + 56%
1152 Shaders +50%
72 Texture units +50%
32 ROPS + 100%
8 ACE/64 queues +400%

I wonder if those beautiful dedicated servers will improve the power difference?????????????????????????????????? Cloud Powoah!

GPU power is a beautiful thing

You do realize that only 14 of those CUs will actually be used for rendering.  The other 4 will be used for GPGPU purposes.  So, the actual performance difference won't be whatever 50%+ number you decide on.

Also, the Xbox One has 6 CPU cores available to the games, the PS4 has only 4 as the PS4's CPU is split into two.  While the CPU doesn't have an impact on pixels, it does have an impact on frame rate.

Finally, if you believe the PS4 is dedicating 1.84TF to the game then you're subject to wishful thinking.  While I doubt it'll be 10% like the Xbox One uses towards Kinect, there will be a portion of the GPU dedicated to the OS because the OS is still running in the background.

That said, stay on topic.  This thread isn't about the hardware differences.  It's about Killzone having dedicated servers or not.

Well on PS4, yes.

Pretty much every game on Xbox One will have dedicated servers.

How do you know every game will have dedicated servers??? MS are gonna rent companies their servers cheap. They aren't giving them free for every game. So that doesn't mean every comapny or game will use them.

Hopefully cloud power might improve the X1 perfermance too??????

Pigs might fly!

That is why I said pretty much.

Ever major AAA game will have dedicated servers on Xbox One.
Heck even most launch and launch window games do support dedicated servers already.

And why do you try to downplay cloud and dedicated servers is beyond me.

Probably for the same reason you bring XBO related stuff in a Killzone Shadow Fall thread.

I mentioned a lot of games in that thread for comparison. Some are multiplats and some are exclusives.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

You do realise that you're factually wrong? Cerny confirmed that this 14-4 thing is false. There are no CUs reserved for anything like this. It's up to the devs. ¬_¬

You're the first one here who brought the XBO into the mix. And then you complain about Sony people who mess XBO threads.... -__-
