dedicated servers are a beautiful and rare thing

X1 GPU:
1.18 TF GPU (12 CUs) for games
768 Shaders
48 Texture units
16 ROPS
2 ACE/ 16 queues

PS4 GPU:
1.84TF GPU ( 18 CUs) for games + 56%
1152 Shaders +50%
72 Texture units +50%
32 ROPS + 100%
8 ACE/64 queues +400%

I wonder if those beautiful dedicated servers will improve the power difference?????????????????????????????????? Cloud Powoah!

GPU power is a beautiful thing

You do realize that only 14 of those CUs will actually be used for rendering.  The other 4 will be used for GPGPU purposes.  So, the actual performance difference won't be whatever 50%+ number you decide on.

Also, the Xbox One has 6 CPU cores available to the games, the PS4 has only 4 as the PS4's CPU is split into two.  While the CPU doesn't have an impact on pixels, it does have an impact on frame rate.

Finally, if you believe the PS4 is dedicating 1.84TF to the game then you're subject to wishful thinking.  While I doubt it'll be 10% like the Xbox One uses towards Kinect, there will be a portion of the GPU dedicated to the OS because the OS is still running in the background.

That said, stay on topic.  This thread isn't about the hardware differences.  It's about Killzone having dedicated servers or not.

You do realise that you're factually wrong? Cerny confirmed that this 14-4 thing is false. There are no CUs reserved for anything like this. It's up to the devs. ¬_¬
