Don't you love how ratings now dictate what market a game appeals to? This industry has gone to the gutter. |
Then if you are correct children should play Gears of War and GTA.
Is greater sales potential alone justification enough to determine the artistic style of the next Zelda game? | |||

It's a port on a system that's not selling well. It's not due to its graphics. Most people already played this game and it's not in their interest to purchase a port of a game they've already played. It's the same reason the HD collections on the PS3 and 360 don't sell very well. There are people out there that will buy it, but not everyone.
It's also a single game in HD compared to two or three in the usual package and it's $10 more than every collection except the MGS Collection.

And Twilight Princess was rated T (PG-13) and Skyward Sword and Wind Waker HD are rated E10+ (PG). What's your point? I watch PG-rated movies all the time. G-rated movies are really uncommon, far less common than E-rated games. FIFA, Madden, and PES are all rated E; are their target demographics children? Do they fail to appeal to the over-teen demographic because they're rated "everyone"?

Yeah and why is that? Lucily for developers they have lega protection from backlash because parents are too busy today to look at what their kids are playing.

G is general audience which is akin to everyone. As I said before teen is a stretch of a rating for Nintendo. That is mostly reserved for thei two titles in Metroid and Zelda at the highest. Zelda has mostly been an everyone type game for the mass majority of its existence. E doesnt mean children it mean at it is a general game anyone should be able to play. Why should fifa be anything less than E? I have no idea what this has to do with the target demographics for Nintendo. As as I said Nintendo games are mostly made for children to families. Teen ratings from Nintendo is a stretch. There is absolutely nothing to defend.

Yes; all ages. Over 20s are part of "all ages".
Yeah otherwise it will be rejected by non zelda fans and wind waker showed that there are only 4 million dedicated zelda fans.

I'm very sure too but zelda has the privilege of doing so because of age
I'm sure zelda would also love to have over 10 + million fans like call of duty does too.
