Forums - Gaming - Single-player progress won't carry over when upgrading some games to next-gen

Didn't we know this already?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Never expected that it would.

Are people really that impatient that they can't wait a few weeks to get the next gen version? Hell forget the time I just couldn't get a game knowing that there's a much better console option of it out there that I can get soon (whenever I would jump to next gen).

Stupid. I don't really see any reason to not make this possible, but there is no point in upgrading a few weeks later and restarting SP.

I will be waiting for all these cross-gen games

Well some people aren't getting one at launch .Some will get one in 5+ months from now. And some people can't wait like you can.

Yeah I guess.  I don't know I just have absolutely no interest in buying a 7th gen game if I know it'll be smoother and bigger on 8th gen.  All these upgrade and carry over programs seem like a headache and extra transactions for the company that, if I were them, I wouldn't want to worry about.

Wasn't that obvious?

That involves them investing in more cloud-based servers to save your game data, no? Involves more security coding to make sure you don't upload some sort of offline-created altered files, no?

Allowing single-player would mean that they'd have you authenticate you via being connected to psn/xbl while playing single player...I feel like it'd be too much work/effort on their behalf to such a small amount of people buying the cross-gen games.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Thats stupid

This is why BC is important and should be standard IMO.
