God please no! I mean, I don't want console manufacturers to fail, but I am really happy Wii U is selling how it's selling. Cause if it would have sold like the Wii did, Sony may have had incorporated the "gamepad" idea to the PS4, and that would be such a sad day for me...now it seems they won't bother with it.

1. Sorry, but that's a BS attitude. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you should sit there and cheer a system failing. I honestly hate a long of things about the Xbox brand, I have since the first one launched. But that doesn't mean I waste my time or energy with something as meaningless and pointless as hoping they fail. As I Nintendo fan, would I love them to sell BETTER than everyone else (like they did last gen)? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean I sit and waste time hive fiving people because the competition is struggling. That's just childish.
2. Sony already has made their intentions QUITE clear of trying to rip off Nintendo's "symetrical gameplay" idea by coupling the PS4 with the Vita. They mentioned this several times, and will no doubt try to push it in the future, if nothing else as a means to con people into buying a Vita finally.
3. The GamePad, as a controller, all around, is an awesome piece of technology. I'm not personally crazy about the idea of looking between the controller screen and the tv in rapid succession either, but honestly that's just poor game design anyway. Doing it once in awhile works just fine, and more importantly, have the second screen to use as a map, a camera, an inventory screen, etc., has a LOT great potential. And beyond even that, the fact that you can use it to play off-tv is pretty much worth the price of admission all by itself.
4. The Wii U IS going to be level out and ultimately be successful, regardless of whether some people want it to be or not. Their franchises are more visible than ever, and games like Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. and Zelda will ensure the console sells well. The price drop is certainly going to help, as being $100-200 cheaper than the competition will certainly sway a lot of shoppers. So, again, I really fail to see how "being happy about the sales" is worth your time, whatsoever.
Toodles!
