Forums - General - Do you want Machina back as head moderator on Vgchartz?

Should we have regular voting for who are mods are?

No, leave it to current mods to hire new ones 10 25.64%

yes, we should be able to... 17 43.59%

no 8 20.51%

Other post below. 4 10.26%

Total:39

I knew you'd do this... Anyway, yea I do want him back. At the time he was head mod I disliked the moderation team but ever since we've got this new team I've realised how good the old one was. I want machina reinstated and all the new mods demoted to mere mortals again. BOOM!

Around the Network

Soon my cadre will be in position.

It's almost October, you know.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Really not a shot in hell that he'd come back regardless of what's wanted I'm afraid. Just doesn't see the fun in this stuff anymore, and it's tough to blame him. Dealing with user complaints which is basically the entire job of head mod is like being in the complaint department at a Walmart. Just endless negativity that really makes it tough to enjoy.

...

i vote rolstoppable

For those of you who do not know, Machina is not just part of the name of another gaming website and whatever else. Machina was the Site admin and head mod on Vgchartz for many years.

I believe it was last year that he left us for both of Vgchartz sister sites around the time his best friend Seece left this site do to unnamed reasons.

Seems that without warning he has taken back the reigns from Axumblade. It makes sense. Most of our current mod team does not even want to be here. They are either busy working, or they just lost interest in this site long ago. Half of them were only put on because they more or less left the site and the mods wanted to keep them here. Is any of this facts? No, but the whole situation is pretty obvious.

Now for some reason, ioi has put Machina back in charge, a guy who said he does not even want to be here, and has not been here in a year plus. Does that mean ioi is finally getting back to fixing this site? Or does that mean Axumblade just quit because he knows he cannot be here anymore so we get the only other person who would take the job?

Even if Machina does come back officially, I do not care as long as he is active here, I think from now on MODS should be voted for every 1-2 years. Replacements as well.

How can we trust the mods when 90 percent of them hardly post, do not seem to want to be here, and just come to relive past escapades here.

So I just hope you are coming back for the right reasons Machina. Because I for one am tired of just getting ioi's left overs on this site. I also hope that you other mods are not just staying here because you got this job. Be here because you want to. Montanahatchet did not really want to be here, neither did the other two ( sega and twestern), Barozi is never here and once used the excuse of moving or something.

Anyone else agree with me? Should we at least be allowed to vote for regular mods?

Should mods actually want to be here and make themselves known to be mods? I can list who wants to be here from my perspective

Mr. Khan

Kasz

Kresnik

Maybe Trucks, but for the wrong reasons.

Sort of Smeags and Yo_John, but they just do not have the time it seems.

According to this link, he is not a moderator yet, but why the sudden change with Axumblade and his return?

no for real I love Axum's coaching approach, but I also loved Machina, so I can't say. What I like about you is that you really care about this site, even if you get crap for it. Keep fighting the good fight Spurge. *hugs*

To your questions, I think becoming a mod gives the users a sense of responsibility and the tasks sometimes become a chore. Also, it's hard for them to be too close and keep the authority thing going. Boys (mods), correct me if I'm wrong, but that's kind of how I see it.

I think we will always want things to be perfect, but it's not really possible. Having spent some time away from the chartz, I think it's all going well to be perfectly honest. But complaints are part of the fun of vgchartz, kinda like flash mobs, so I won't stop ya.

Lets see... i was warned for being "too negative" and i reported a user who explicitly called posters undereducated, misinformed, psycopathic and even messaged two mods about it and got a response yet no mod action taken. So if he helps the mod team with consistency issues and actually repremands mods when they step out of line then yes. I would like tohave him

Padibullah has spoken

I made the exact same joke to Machina (about overthrowing axumblade) and he assured me he has no intention of returning to the forums, much less to return as head mod.

Signature goes here!

The problem of being a mod, at least that's how I see it, is that you no longer can avoid the trolls, discussions and/or problems of the site. Instead, you must search those behaviors and the users behind them to keep the site as clean as possible, and that's not the best way to employ your free time. Even less when most will always critizice your decisions.

And hell no to vote mods! It doesn't matter how good your intentions are, in the end, the more popular will get positive votes and the hated ones will get the negative ones. And with the amount of fanboys that are on the site, the popularity will not be based on how good or bad they do their job.

Yeah I know the feeling. I got banned for pointing out someone was acting childish in their responses but reported someone who called me an idiot and stupid because they didnt understand what I was saying and nothing happened to them

It seems the moderation here is selective at times. You want to make up sales data to trash a game? Not a problem.

You want to post an opinion with facts to back it up? Banned if mod doesnt agree with those facts.

It really seems like you can actively troll Nintendo topics and its okay but if you say something against Sony and have facts to back it up, you can be banned regardless.

I have seen Khan moderate some posts and they do seem honest about it but one of them is completetly immature, refuses to acknowledge anything they dont agree with and will even leave immature posts on your wall.
