I'm about 20 hours into Fire Emblem and it's easily the best game I've played on the 3DS but the medieval setting is why I just can't really get into it. For some reason i really hate medieval times, how they talk/act and how they dress just pisses me off lol I think thats why I like Persona so much, it's set in present day. As for SMT IV I played it for 30 minutes and got my ass kicked in the tutorial... twice, so I'm going to give it another shot some other time.

Pokemon is the reason I bought my 3DS so i'm sure my opinion will change once it's released.

Don't play any other Fire Emblem games then, because the medival setting is actually taken seriously. Awakening has the good sense to play it for laughs, and even poke fun of its own character designs. It's also quite deep below the seemingly simple surface, with emphasis on training units (Pokemon style) in the proper classes and birthing ridiculously overpowered children.

If you can find it, The World Ends With You is a pretty neat modern-day RPG. Controls might be a turn-off, but if you get hooked by the story like I did, then it's hard to put down.

And yeah, SMT is tough. I found it to be rewarding, though, and the story took some surprisingly thoughtful turns.

In my eyes yes, theres not a whole lot on 3DS that I really like at least until Pokemon comes out. Not saying the 3DS library is bad, far from it in fact but I'd consider P4G the best game I've ever played by a very large margin. I've never connect with a game as much as I have with the Persona games. I'm sorry my opinion is different than yours.
