Rooting for your favorite products or company is perfectly fine. But you should consider how you hate how people write off the wiiu and the negative posts/threads/articles about it...yet turn around make similar thread topics about other companies and their products. It's rather ironic

I don't see the point of it but i can easily name what I like/deslike about each company as well. (like Nintendo and their stuck up old ways and hypocrisy) but that has nothing to do with my point. Anywho I honestly don't expect you to understand or agree with it and since this is going a bit off topic I will stop there :)

The death of Sega and the rise of Sony and Microsoft has forced me to this conclusion. Having first party is great, but having great thirty part completes the whole picture. Without proper third party you can lose at 2/6 to 4/6 of your potential market. This is why Sega could only sell 40 million consoles between two generations with the genesis and this is why the N64 and GC fell into a slump with shitty third party but awesome first party.

your right but comparison to sega and nintendo, nintendo 1st party is Godly in sales. Nintendo made alot of money despite GCN low ass sales. Someone here had a chart (of course its combine with handheld however) of all 3 companies profits every year in gaming! Nintendo will survive especially since 3ds is doing well. Wait intill 2ds arrives, nintendo will make lots of Green! But that 3rd party support really is killing them (wiiu) *sigh

wow no love for xbo on the poll.... i am looking forward to see how everything unfolds a year after launch. i think the next e3 will be one of the best since the new consoles have been out for awhile and the games should be looking and getting better about that time, usually that take another year or two, but i hope they made the machines easily workable enough for developers like they both have been touting.

I think PS4 will end up with 55 percent marketshare, Xbox with 33, WiiU with 17. Will be good for everyone, Playstation is back on top, Xbox selling lots of units despite the higher pricetag and current public opinion. WiiU not the failure it was predicted to be, selling Gamecube/N64 numbers.

Overall everyone will be happy.

Everyone not happy [wiiu/vita], but then again [ps4/3ds] are going to make sony/nintendo profitable! Its kind of weird especially wen you put microsoft in the middle :-/

Of course, Nintendo plans for low risk and high reward. The Wii U is probably the first time they've had a loss and thats mostly because of the R&D on the controller added to the console. They will profit off of the Wii U quickly because its old tech. Nintendo is guaranteed to make profit because again, low risk. Yet it costs them when it comes to a stable market that buys steadily, like Microsoft or Sony's. The Wii's sales were predictable because a great portion of the sales was all funneled into two or three games and the rest was still first party. Even if they screw themselves out of third party, they still profit. They could've done better for their fans to ensure them that there was no need to buy another console.

OT: It's way too early to know. There are a lot of things that can happen that will impact the result in the long term. What if the (very doubtful) rumor of the X1 having an extra GPU makes it the console with the better looking games? What if MSoft is the one with more agressive price reductions in the coming years? What if the PS4 ends up having heat issues due to its design (I know the whole back is an exhaust, but from where does the air come in)? What if some of the casuals that abandoned Nintendo (as some say) and have gone into mobile gaming, come back when WiiU reaches a more likeable price point to play games like Mario Kart, etc with family and friends?
