PS3 was never weaker, you look at GoW,Uncharted,TLOU graphics and it's proof of what is capable of.Devs just didn't have time nor will to master the architecture,so early on multiplats were better on 360.Today,that isn't true anymore, just check Digital Foundry findings recently.
You guys really need to learn to avoid ListerOfSmeg's comments, he comes to sony threads solely to dampen the spirit. Just look at his past comments he hates sony and trys to back it up with false information.

So unfortunately for them, Infamous and Killzone might look nice visually, but it's nothing I haven't seen gameplay wise from those same franchises I can play right now on PS3. |
Same can be said of the x1. Sony has gameplay down, no worries there. They certainly have more variety in their first party and exclusives then MS. GAmes like journey, Heavy rain, LBP, Shadow of Colussus are unique, sony always like trying new things.

Not too impressed with what MS is showing either. Glad to hear Sony has gameplay down, hopefully they show some next gen version of it some time soon.

To be honest the launch is pretty much by the numbers in terms of genres/design... car game, fighting game, fps game. Though Killzone is looking absolutely amazing, I'm not sure they will for this game make changes to it to show next gen design. I mean it's about time these FPS games had bigger areas and more decision making/effects... pretty sure it will be a very nice by the numbers linear fps game.
I'm not sure you will get anything unexpected at the start of the gen, but sometimes you dont need it either, Infamous i want more powers a more alive world and more effects. They deliver that, the will deliver a next gen experience on this game for me.
Sony have shown on the PS3 that they have the best exclusives, Flower, Heavy rain/Beyond, Journey, Dead Nation, Tokoyo Jungle... many many others. I am not too concerned about it at all.
well, duh, it's the most powerful console of the newest generation so of course it's gonna have better graphics than the other consoles, but the question is by how much, we'll see later in the gen.

Wasn't Skyrim PS3 plagued with issues? That's the latest non-launch window game that ran like crap.
In regards to graphics, I've always considered the PS3 and Xbox 360 to be basically identical graphically, it's certainly not the difference of Console vs PC that's for sure.

Two issues the PS3 had, the memory allocation and it was way too complex.
When developing for multi platform games you spread your time across all platforms. Most companies have technology groups but they are still working on multiple platforms. So over time your tech gets better but it takes time. Unlike SSM and Naughty god who only work on a single platform, they are able to perfect their tech much better than 3rd parties.
So most multiplatform games are pretty close as the years go by, the 1st party stuff is generally much better.
As for Skyrim, the reason that game runs crap is to do with the memory allocation. Can't remember the right terms so forgive me, but with the Xbox, developers have access to the whole 512mb for the graphics card and main memory, while the Playstation 3 had it split off. So Skyrim being open world needs as much memory as possible, in Sony's case the problem is that the PS3 is providing alot less memory to the game than the Xbox (or something like that). Thereby it's amazing that its running at all :) - fortunately Sony have learn't their lessons with the Ps4.. we wont be seeing memory issues this time.
I still think the biggest thing we will see this gen will be FPS... but again I believe that the best looking games will be from exclusives, but from those that work soley on that platform.

Whats the difference between console and PC that it is so clear and obvious?
