I own a vita too. Why do you have a vita if you don't consider indies as games ? Vita is THE indie console (Thanks Shahid for that one)

Plus Gravity Rush, Uncharted, P4:golden, D3 remake, Kz:mercenaries, Soul sacrifice, Virtue's last reward, Muramasa rebirth, and many others to come

What a game!!!! The 1st reason i got my vita. Ps plus+vita = totally worth it!

You know, it's on 3DS too. The predecessor (999) was only on DS (and therefore is playable on 3DS). Just saying.

Sony can't do much at this point. The hackers need to work faster and crack it so they can play Nintendo games on it. That is what helped sell the PSP and it will help sell the Vita.

Gamers logic:
1) the vita is failing. No 3rd party will invest money in it (they'd be crazy to do so).
2) OMG! 3rd parties are stupid. Why don't they make games for WiiU?

And my favourite:
3) Vita has no games.
-Indies? They don't count.
-Uncharted: GA? I can play that on my ps3.
-Rayman Origins and Legends? Meh, multiplat, doesn't count (if it's multiplat, you're clearly not allowed to have fun playing it).
-Persona 4 Golden? Meh, port (because everyone and their mothers played the original and they can buy the ps2 version if they want to, since everyone is using their ps2)
-Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice? Meh, they didn't boost hardware at all (as if that has to do anything with their quality or budget).

Just because the vita is failing, doesn't mean it's not a good console or that it doesn't have great games. It means that the general public doesn't have an interest in it for several reasons. Sure, a gow, gta, grand turismo, red dead, bioshock, monster hunter game would help, but not necessarily because of quality, but because of the name itself and its brand power.

I wish people will come out and say, "you know what? I have no interest in vita, I will never buy it, no matter what is released, I could not care less as long as I see it failing." Because this is precisely how they feel and it shows. So, the next time you're about to say it has no games, either do some research or at least say that it doesn't have any games that interest you. Quality needs to stay out of the discussion, because you clearly have not played Soul Sacrifice or Gravity Rush and it's beyond silly saying that Pokemon is better, thus comparing a game which you haven't personally experienced with one that hasn't even been released.

(nothing personal against you, t-bone, though I do disagree with some of your arguments)

If I use myself as an example, it had too few great games to justify the purchase.  The price drop was enough to convice me, but I am sure there are many more people on the fence who are waiting for 10+ mega-franchise exclusive titles to be available.

Really, name the games that are not indies and not already on other platforms? Simply not enough I own a vita, so I know my stuff..

Are you sure you have enough qualifiers there? Maybe you should add a couple more just to be safe.

Well, the same criteria is usually applied to judging WiiU-games, so it isn't completely unfair. And you can reduce it to exclusives and still can name a lot of quality games on the 3DS.

1: I never mentioned the Wii-U: with that said I also think it's unfair there as well.

2: Whilts "quality" is subjective, I can argue Same with the Vita, you just have to know where to look...just like on any console out there. But as always it seems people are unwilling to take more than a second to look before passing judgement.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

GAMES, Vita only games. Simple.

Vita has loads of games. Please learn your stuff.

how does the Vita's library compare to it's competitor, the 3DS?

Muramasa and Persona 4 are ports for crying out loud.

According to Metacritic, extremely well.

There are plenty of ports on both systems. Not as if it matters, the PS2 version of Persona 4 pales in comparison to Golden.

Yep i knew it, but i bought the vita over the 3ds due to already having a ps3 with ps+

also i prefer vita more than 3ds due to its OLED screen and cause it is a lot more powerful

1. no. it's completely fair. If Nintendo's solution to Wii U's predicament had been indie games and multiplats instead of 1st and 3rd party exclusives that would really sell the system it would be fair to say they are not doing what they need to for the system. The same holds true for Vita.

Europe has been selling PSPs very well just like Japan before the price cut. I suspect the price cut will bring a lot of those PSP sales to Vita, just like it did in Japan.

As for America, Sony needs to establish not just AAA games, but games that are fit for portables. Games like Gran Turismo or Peace Walker were not only high profile titles but also offered nice gameplay chunks that made it easy to take out and play for a bit on the go. Titles like Uncharted which are much more fitting for home consoles is not the right direction.

Let's see. The usual meme is: WiiU haz no gamez.
Indies? They don't count

Mario? Already played it a lot.

Splinter Cell, Injustice, Watchdogs, Assassins Creed, Batman Origins, COD: Ghosts, Resident Evil: Revelations ...? Meh, multiplat, doesn't count (if it's multiplat, you're clearly not allowed to have fun playing it).

Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Need for Speed: Most Wanted? Meh, port (because everyone and their mothers played the original)

Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Lego City Undercover? Meh, they didn't boost hardware at all (as if that has to do anything with their quality or budget).

Sure, a Zelda, GTA, Metroid Prime would help, but not necessarily because of quality, but because of the name itself and its brand power.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

BTW, I know Vita has games and I'm interested in the device. The thing holding me back now is: my tremendous backlog on 3DS- and WiiU-games (yes WiiU-games). If I don't have time to play the games on the platforms I already own, why buy another one?
