I can't believe some guys here even doubt the effect such a sponsoring deal has. You really need to go to a marketing class and just learn the very basic stuff.

Oh boy.

OT: This can really help with the negative image of the console. Football=good, therefore item sponsoring football=good. I don't think this is going to pull football fans in mass to the console though. It only makes them like the concept of the new xbox, not necessarily feel the need to spend $499 and buy one at launch. Great first step though.

I'd imagine when they walk into walmart and see Madden 25 for a system that costs 100 dollars less- they'd get that instead or they'd get it for the system they already planned on buying (or already have). It's a great way to get mindshare and brand recognition though.

I'd imagine when they walk into walmart and see the same game for a system that costs 100 dollars less- they'd get that instead or they'd get the game for the system they already planned on buying (or already have). It's a great way to get mindshare and brand recognition though.

Yeah, every marketing move MS does with a multiplat game will only benefit the PS4... or current gen. Sigh...

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

It's just not chill to call people out like that.

That's not what I meant at all. I didn't mean to make it a PS4 thing only. The Xbox already has great mindshare in the US and I'd imagine a lot of madden fans were already planning to buy the game for the 360 or upgrade to the Xbox One anyways. it's a good move to get the Xbox One name out there, but the xbox has a 15+ million lead on Playstation as it is and it's not going to make people run to the stores to buy a 500 dollar product- if they can play it on current gen as well (360 or PS3). Plus what about the football fans that aren't into gaming that can already do everything the Xbox One does for football and cheaper? I don't see why the partnership was necessary.

I really hope you aren't being serious.

This is hyperbole of epic proportions. It's a sponsor; one of many.

Real NFL fans already have DirectTV and their fantasy football app. They don't require a $500 unit to perform the same operation they already have.

So when people talk BS, especially the same people that talked BS again and again in the past, I should just let them spread their BS?

Sorry, but I just can't do that.
Especially when you look at the people doubting the benefits of such a huge sponsoring deal. Enditall, A_C_E, 007BondAgent, ... the usual suspects are at it again.

This is positive news for Xbox One, this must be "yeah, but..." stuff!

You are right that it helps all systems, but not just the way you think.  When someone sees an ad for Madden 25 and at the end it says available on XBOXOne, M$ didn't pay for the whole ad.  It's called co-op advertising.  EA pays a share and M$ pays a share.  Both companies get what they want - basic  product awareness.

M$ isn't just shilling out $$$ for Madden, they have a partnership with the NFL.  That is something completly different.  They will be able to use team logo's/player names/video of games as exclusive content on the XBOXOne.  This will result in a different need for the fans to want an XBOXOne over the PS4.  Like others have said, it probably won't get a bunch of people who don't plan to purchase a game system to do so, but those who want one at some point will be thinking about it.  Like most sports, the NFL has a LARGE crowd of fanatical fans that will pay an extra $100 to have the capability for 5-10 years(console lifetime).  Not sure what it costs to go to a Football(soccer) game in Europe, but here in the states it is REALLY expensive.  $25 to park, $75-$300 for a ticket, $50+ for concessions = $150-$350+ per person per game.

People think that $50-$100 more for XBOXOne when Buyers are already spending $500-$600 buying the PS4 is going to change their mind?

The main issue with the XB1 is the $100 price gap, but I think MS will respond quickly if the PS4 gets too much steam.

Library wise I think MS has the better library ... Rhyse, Dead Rising 3, and Killer Instinct at launch and then Titanfall next spring trumps Sony's exclusives. Forza/Drive Club is a wash.

Considering Sony hasn't announced the vast majority of their PS4 exlusives yet... your point is kind of moot, dont you think?

Just seems weird that fans are ok with SOny staying silent on their games this whole time....especially with a rich, and I mean rich, history of annoucning games 2+ years in advance.

Not really, their Japanese studios might, but most of their Western games are announced around 1 1/2 years away at most. Anyway, most of the PS4 exclusives to be announced are for 2014. I very much doubt that there is anything else beyond Knack, Drive Club and Killzone for launch which is a bit dissapointing

Good. They need to get aggressive with their marketing. I don't want this generation to be completely dominated by the PS4!
