Forums - Sales - Final Fantasy X Collection vs Fable Anniversary vs Wind Waker HD

I think the size of the franchises are the most indicative:

Final Fantasy X HD > Wind Waker HD > Kingdom Hearts 1.5HD > Fable Anniversary.

However, Zelda has proven to have quite the staying power. Ocarina of Time has sold very good, but also the ports Nintendo made of Link's Awakening on GBC (digital 3DS port did very well too) and A Link to the Past on GBA sold good well after their original's release dates. This probably means Wind Waker will find similar success, especially seeing as how they've improved the look of the original. I'll still say Final Fantasy will win this, but it and Wind Waker have the real battle while the other two will have to sit back.

KH 1.5 will sell more than FFX HD

So KH 1.5 ~= Wind Waker > FFX HD > Fable HD

Wind Waker HD is the most interesting to me. Final Fantasy X and X2 HD should do well too. Didn't even know Fable was being re-released.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Fable 1 remake deserves to sell the best, loved it back in the day.

It'll probably be Zelda WW HD > FF X Collection > Fable Anniversary.

They'll each sell well, don't think any will sell amazingly well though, by that I mean none will top Zelda OoT 3DS (3.11m) or the GoW Collection (3.03m, all retail SKUs combined). If Fable Anniversary is bundled like Fable 2 & 3 it could be the bestselling out of the 3 games and sell 2.5m+.

Windwaker > Fable > Final Fantasy on home consoles

Both Wind Waker and Fable will have more advertising etc Plus they are both overhauled games that look completely different than the original versions. FF is just an HD remastered game.

In this case it'll be the games that has the most effort put in them which is Wind Waker and Fable Anniversary

As far as Im aware there is only one HD Remastered series that has reached 1m and that was the first HD remastered game which is God of War.

Remakes on the other hand that has more effort put in them like Halo Anniversary and Ocarina of Time where you can see big differences both has sold multimillions.

How exactly is WWHD different from FFX HD?

FFX will easily beat Fable thanks to Japan. If Kingdom Hearts HD could sell over 200k LT than I'm sure FFX can do that first week.

Three of my favorite series. I think Zelda will sell the most because a) It's being treated as a major release b) the fans are obsessive c) It's getting a real make-over d) not many people owned a Gamecube and e) Wii U needs major titles badly. Final Fantasy X is one of my very favorite games of all time. It looks like they're giving it a nice touch up. It's very popular in Japan, and FF fans are also pretty fanatical. I think it will also do well. Fable I think will do the worst. I really enjoyed this game, but the fans - I think - are less passionate than the other two, and the Fable series to me seems to be at a bit of a low point. I wouldn't mind hearing that Danny Elfman theme again though. I wouldn't mind picking up all 3, but for me personally Zelda is the only must-have because I've never played it. Since the peak Zelda audience is over 8 million (Twilight Princess) and WW only did 4.6 million, I'd say there are quite a few gamers out there who wouldn't mind trying out toon Link for the first time. Now, if they will buy a Wii U...

It depends on whether we're counting digital sales, as both fable and FFXHD will likely have a much higher portion of digital sales then windwaker.

My prediction for their sales between now and april 1st (digital included).

FFXHD (vita+ps3)= 1.5m
Windwaker HD: 1.2m
Fable HD: 800k

and can you explain why, seeing as the Big N has an incetive to buy digital with roughly 10% money back

Wii U only comes in 8GB and 32GB sizes and so it userbase as a whole is less equiped to go digital. Furthermore FF and Fable will probably be cheaper than WIndwaker, making impulse online purchases more likely.

Id say its a bit of both, They have redesigned alot of things in the game, They quoted saying the characters used to be a single texture now they have separated them from their clothes to add extra detail.

Most HD remakes just up the resolution, add trophies and bump the frame rates upto 60fps then launch. I can guarantee you this if this is an HD remake it will be of the highest quality among them.

well atleast square can get 1 thing right

Not to forget that FFX is also on the Vita handheld, which make an even more convincing case for japanese gamers for whom minor graphics updates are not enough reason to buy the game. We all know they love the ability to play games on the go
