Forums - Nintendo - New Nintendo Direct today - release dates galore - W101 Direct is Live

Maybe this direct they will show something that doesn't make SM3DW look like absolute shit. Because as of right now, that's how it looks.

I eagerly anticipate news for W101, LBW, Pokemon, and Tropical Freeze.

I will say, the Zelda Wii U trailer seem believable.

How?

A Zelda Wii U reveal eight weeks before the WW HD releases?  Doubtful.  The timing doesn't make sense.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

They really need to announce these sooner rather than a 1 day notice...

A little advertising would certainly help these reach more people.

I dunno, since they're recorded and you can watch them whenever you like after the fact (I'm assuming here) then I think it really doesn't matter how many watch it live vs. how many just watch it later after they hear about the news that's in there.  If there's something interesting in the video I think most people who would ever care to watch it will get around to it at some point.

It's the same thing with E3 pressers. The difference between the two is one gets advertising and hype built around them by publishers and the others has 1/20th of the audience.

Fair point, but I don't think something that happens this frequently could ever be as hyped and advertised as the E3 pressers, but you're probably right that they could get it out to more non-nintendo fans if it were hyped and advertised beforehand more.  As it is now it's just a way to get the people who already like them excited for what's coming in the future and seems unlikely to catch many peple outside of that sphere already.  Which could be totally what they're going for, but I'm not sure it's for the best this way.

I'm not saying they could get that big, but there isn't a whole lot of awareness outside of the very hardcore audience. Only giving 1 day till the release of one certainly doesn't help. Even if you can view them later, it's already old news.

I don't think there's much Nintendo can do. For the E3 Nintendo Direct they did advertised it a lot, which made sense. But like you said something that happens so frequently doesn't really need that much hype (especially if you don't announce any new games).

Nintendo gets an article on IGN announcing that there will be a ND, and that's as far as advertisement goes.
