Reboot Metroid

They did, and nearly everybody hated it.

If they had hybridized it with Sin and Punishment 2's controls (namely free pointer aiming instead of the auto-lock or first-person option set by Other M) it could have played brilliantly. Have a narrow window that Samus can aim for without turning around, but with the option of also locking on.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You put me in charge of Nintendo NOW!? That's like defecating in the cake mix and getting me to finish off the baking for you, when I begged you not to defecate in the cake mix in the first place!

Joking aside, I would definitely take the job, as one year salary would set me up for life.

Here's the plan: Push and expand the multimedia experience offered by the Wii U, make that tablet controller into a real living room buddy. Make people aware that the Wii U is the ultimate party console; With the Wii U, from one interface you can:

Watch movies from the likes of Netflix, Lovefilm and others.
Watch movies you have downloaded onto a hard drive (similar to 360 video player but better with more features and better compatibility).
Download content from Amazon.
Listen to music you have downloaded elsewhere.
Play some fantastic multiplayer games that get everyone laughing and shouting at the screen.
Stream music from sites such as Spotify, Pandora etc.
Watch TV (both through BBC I-player/4OD type sites and possible deals with Sky/Freesat).
E-reader for use on touchscreen gamepad.

Emphasize the fact that it's the ultimate night in, all accessible from one machine, one interface, plug what you want into the usb port, no hassle. This should manage to entice once more, the older, more casual and/or female demographic who did a lot for the Wii sales. As this has Wii in the name, we must go for this market to try and ensure we rectify the massive balls-up there's been thus far.

Obviously, keep pumping out the top quality first party material - that goes without saying, do not neglect the loyal fanbase. Talking of first party, how about a few legendary crossovers i.e Mario Kart Vs F-Zero, Animal Crossing X Pokemon, Metroid RPG: The Future of Hyrule 3015. I know these might sound silly, but play around with the ideas - it could be a chance to try exciting new concepts with the sales-guarantee of familiar IPs.

Try and appease 3rd parties, but if they don't want to work with us, there's not a lot we can do.

Advertise the top first party stuff but also advertise the casual party aspect of the console 50/50. Ramp up the advertising - we really need to hook those casuals again, as they are barely aware of Wii U at present.

Hope for the best, take note of our mistakes and make a more competitively powerful console next time, and ditch the Wii brand.

Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.

Karl Pilkington.

Keep the exclusives coming, like, one every three months and deal with the 3rd party shortage situation with devs bonus (if you port, we co-finance the port, 50% of the costs). Also, buy Atlus.

Then, I look closelly at the XOne and PS4 and develop a new console that is superior in every way.

- More RAM,
- More GPU/CPU performance.
- Nintendo "Oculus Rift" as an acessory.
-500 GB HD (2,5")
We release it at 2016 when the other consoles are still picking up steam, price? 400 dollars like the PS4.
It will be too soon to the other companies to react with new consoles and EVERY multiplataform will look awesome on our new console:
-------------------------------- NINTENDO ZEUS. (that is the name of the new console).

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

"Do not defecate in the cake mix".

Wise words man, wise words...

In the short term...

-Phase out Basic and Deluxe bundles and replace them with a more streamlined single bundle for $350. 16gb storage with NSMBU and Nintendoland pre-installed. Transition to a paid service for online multiplayer for $5 a month that provides access to special offers or other premium services. Initiate a marketing push starting with the release of WW HD.

-Start promoting third-party releases. Build some good will by providing special offers or incentives to customers for buying non-Nintendo games (like, for instance, a period of free online multiplayer with purchase of COD or a $5-10 discount on Super Mario 3D World with the purchase of Rayman Legends).

-If economically feasible, drop the price of the Wii U.

-Start throwing money at farther-off projects (Zelda U, for instance) and try to expedite them.

In the long term...

-Would largely depend on how successful the short-term proposal was. If third-parties get on board, and stay on-board, start gearing future systems to be easier to develop for, and take into account feedback from third-parties. If not, double-down on first-party. Use some of that money in the bank to expand the number of studios to take up third-party slack. Focus on more, smaller, and lower-budget games for those new studios and put them to work filling in the gaps between big releases. Branch out, and potentially bring in indie developers with incentives to publish exclusive titles.

-Keep with Nintendo Directs and other consumer-focused initiatives, but go back to an on-stage E3 in the coming years, albeit scaled-down. Also, look into keeping a finger on the pulse of the fanbase, and make sure to be responsive to consumers; potentially hire some PR people to look into that so as to be more quick-footed and attentive in responding.

-Start branching out into third-party publishing, but with new IP only. Do not put larger/established franchises on competing platforms, and start publishing exclusively those that become truly successful.

I'll finish Stage Debut.

Nintendo should just look to the future, & start to create that "3rd pillar". I think Ninty will be first out of the gate in terms of ditching the traditional tethered home console. They started with Wii U not necessarily dependent on the TV, I believe next will be a truly mobile/flexible solution.

Maybe call it the "N7", something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3KCTOkHVhA

I'd just get Yamauchi back and make him head of PR.

He's the the main cause (mostly) that Nintnedo is in this mess IMO. After they finished developing the N64, any developer that didn't agree with him were told to basicly fuck off (hence how the playstation was born). Thats why/where/when they started to drop support for Nintendo and started losing sales and their recognition because the aging man was still president.

If his develoepement team were told to develope a better N64 (perhaps cartridge-less) then maybe the company wouldn't have suffered, He should've stepped down a generation earlier, and MAYBE...just maybe Nintendo wouldn't be the way they are now.

Why? He was horrible for PR, which is why he didn't do it. He deserves much respect for his place in Nintendo history. But the fact of the matter is, the guy was a well known jerk at times too. Iwata is 100% better as a Nintendo head than he was, not leastwise because Iwata actually made games and understand the industry.

I would think all kinds of promotions to get the demand up (while they're making their up-coming games). Bring the player's choice/Nintendo selects afterwards (in 2 years at least)

Start bringing GameCube games to the VC to tie them over.
