Forums - Nintendo - Activision announces six titles coming to the Wii U this Fall

I'm interested in COD. If they bring it to the e-shop this time, I will buy it.

Don't expect it.  Activision hasn't put a single game on the eShop yet.  Of the 51 retail titles released in the US so far, only 10 are not available digitally.  Of those 10, 9 are from Activision.

I know, it's the same here in Norway. I can't understand why not though. I would have bought BO2 if it were on the e-shop. I'm just one guy, but I surely can't be the only one. I haven't seen a Wii U version of that game on any store shelves yet, so I can't understand why they expect it to sell at all.

They should just put it on the e-shop already, what's stopping them?

well considering the Just Dance games, especially the early ones, didnt even work. Im gonna put that in shovelware category despite it selling so well.

From what I can see, the main issue with the original was just that the controls weren't tight. Problems with control do not make a game shovelware on their own. Look at the rest of the game, though, and you see that plenty of attention to detail went into it, it wasn't particularly glitchy, and it did what it said it would do (albeit with the control issues). And it appears to have been refined further since then.

The original was probably somewhat shovelware, in that it was probably rushed and put out with the expectation that it would be a flash-in-the-pan bit of sales, enough to make back the low cost of development. But it did better than expected, and was turned into a franchise as a result.

EDIT: Note that, while some review places gave it a low score (IGN gave it 2/10), others were much more generous (Eurogamer gave it 7/10). That's usually a sign of a flawed game, rather than shovelware.

they werent just not tight, they didnt work. Period. Its a danciing game, but i could literally sit their and just wave the controller and win. If that isnt glithchy, thrown together crap i dont know what is. ANd there was barely attention to detail, it was just the same backgrounds and character models, now IMHO the games still kinda blow in the control dept, but that has more to do with WIi's limited control scheme, the 360 versions are actually good and one can tell that at least UBI is trying with the series, so kudos to them for that.

Treyarch is a good dev and they handle all the COD games for Activision when it comes to Nintendo... additionally, WiiU version using same next-gen engine as PS4/XBO.

you have a source for that? because it thats true, that makes no sense as to why Treyarch is working on it and not IW since they are the ones who made the damn next gen engine in the first place. No this is probably running on the same engine was Blops2 did last year which is why they have Treyarch working on it, since they already dealt with it before.

Like I said in my first post and was repeated again a few posts above, IW are already bogged down with 5 iterations of the game.  The studio only has so many resources to work with.  Adding a 6th SKU to the mix would mean something is going to get limited attention (read: Wii U version).  By handing it off to Treyarch who are familiar with working with Nintendo and are familiar with Nintendo's development tools (IW has never done either) and isn't bogged down with 5 other SKU's to deal with, they can concentrate on the porting process (game and engine...just as they did on Wii).

And again, treyarch porting IW's Modern Warfare 4 engine to the Wii just as they are now porting the next generation iteration of the engine to Wii U.   This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone as this is exactly what happened last generation.   Keep in mind that Treyarch back in the Wii days could have just reused the same CoD 3 engine on Wii but instead they ported over the next gen engine.

So IW cant add another SKU but a a company like say Ubi has multiple versions of AC 4 and Watchdogs all being done by their same teams? Not to mention that Watchdogs is gonna run from a new engine? Yeah a huh. So many resources? There making the same game they've been making for years. Not familar with Ninty hardware? Are they more familar with PS4 and Xbox1, systems that arent even out?

Plus why did it take till now to annouce it its almost August. I dont buy it.

IW - 125 employees.
Ubisoft Montreal - 2,300 employees

Plus ACIV is being developed with cooperation from Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Kiev, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Quebec, Ubisoft Singapore and Ubisoft Sofia.

Watch Dogs is also being developed at Ubisoft Montreal with help from Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisot Romania.

As for being familiar with hardware, they have dev kits for those consoles.  I don't think they even have Wii U dev kits.

As for why it took so long to announce?  Who the hell knows.  I've been highly critical of the delay myself.  And it's not the first time Activision has delayed the announcement of a CoD for a Nintendo console.  Hell, it was October when they finally announced Black Ops II for Wii U.

Far enough on the employees.

Not buying the dev kits though, if Treyarch had dev kits why wouldnt IW not have them? THat makes no sense to me, unless Activision withheld from one studio, which i dont see why they would do that.

THe delay is really iffy, they only hurt their sales, you cant even preorder the damn WIi U version, but you could do it for PS4/X1? Then if it sells like the one did last year(not good) cant even really blame the WIi U fanbase for that.

got a little pumped when i saw the subject, then read the post. Of 6 games we get 1 blockbuster (which i'm thankful for) a toy fad, a great MOBILE game, and 3 rejects. Who the hell decides to greenlight crap like that?

that's true, but shouldn't they be learning from that?  I guess maybe they're just trying to turn a quick buck instead of making something worth while?
