if Treyarch had dev kits why wouldnt IW not have them? THat makes no sense to me, unless Activision withheld from one studio, which i dont see why they would do that.

Treyarch already has them cos of Black Ops II. IW probably never intended to make a Wii U game and so never got kits.

that still doesnt make sense, why would only ONE developer at Activision have Wii U dev kits and no one else? Pretty sure Ninty sends dev kits to publishers and not individual devs, devs dont have that kind of power.

I honestly don't know if devkits are sent out to devs or publishers.

Activision is currently leading in support of Wii U against many other publishers, releasing blockbuster franchises to Nintendo’s struggling platform.

im just making assumptions honestly. I dont see how Ninty could just bypass Activision and just hand out dev kits to their dev teams. The developers work for the publishers. I dont think they can just bypass the bosses like that.

Now maybe Ninty game Acti dev kits and Acti just decided to farm it out to whoever, but then the question comes up...why? Why not give IW a ninty dev kit?

got a little pumped when i saw the subject, then read the post. Of 6 games we get 1 blockbuster (which i'm thankful for) a toy fad, a great MOBILE game, and 3 rejects. Who the hell decides to greenlight crap like that?

to be fair they are just continuing with what they did with the Wii

that's true, but shouldn't they be learning from that?  I guess maybe they're just trying to turn a quick buck instead of making something worth while?

this is Activision...what do you think?

haHA!  touche again. :)

Who the hell knows why.  Why, out of 50 retail game available for Wii U, are only 10 not available for digital download?  And keep in mind that of those 10 games, 9 are Activision games.   In fact, all Activision games are unavailable for digital download.   The only other game comes from EA (even though all other EA games can be downloaded).

But should we assume that just because Activision orders Wii U dev kits that they will have ordered enough units for every single studio to have enough for full game development?  Do we suspect that Sledgehammer games have enough Wii U SDK's for game development?  And Raven Software, High Moon Studios, Radical Entertainment or Neversoft?  Speaking of Neversoft.  Remember how well Guitar Hero sold on Wii?  Those were not even developed by Neversoft.  Vicarious Visions handled those ports.

Why Activision does what it does is a matter of Activision being Activision.   It's best no to make too many assumptions about them and their studios.

Well hell assumptions is all we have, and thats why we discussing on forums. But who knows how many they got? You're right about that. I still feel IMHO that Acti in terms of priority; the WIi U is kind of on the back burner at least in terms of COD. It is what it is, doesnt really affect me that much as I will not be buying the next COD, period. Was curious is all.

Oh, I'm sure it is on their CoD back burner.  But the lack of IW at the Wii U helm isn't surprising given the circumstances (resources and dev kits) and history (Treyarch game and engine porting).

IW has been pretty vocal about being anti-Nintendo in the past too.   That could (if we stick to speculation) be one of several reasons why Activision never ordered SDK's for them.
