It isn't meant for people like us. The sales of them speak for themselves.

Funny since X1 has more announced games for its first year, some people are compensating by looking into the negative hypothetical future.

Also, 2010 was a huge year for 360 games.

Funny how you twisted it to say announced games, Sony has said they have more games coming out in the first year than Microsoft...Also then tell me the kind of people that are buying a $500 to play Kinect Sports, I never said it wouldn't sell well, but its not a system seller.

To be fair what anyone should care about is what announced. Especially since we don't know what those announced games will be. Sony may have more arcade titles in development. The games left for Microsoft may only be arcade titles. If that is the case than people will have a different outlook.

If it is published by microsoft, it is considered part of their first party offerings. Sometimes they are referred to as second party. Still, you need to include all games published under microsoft as first party.

Wasn't Mass Effect published by Microsfot then it ended up on PS3...

Well, it came as a trilogy package....5 years later lol.  It wouldn't come as a individual game.

Came out before that on the PSN shop as an individual game...

Are you sure?  I don't remember seeing it there until the trilogy.  I'll have to check on it.

*edit*

Checked it.  You were wrong.  Just like with many PS3 collections like God of War and Metal Gear, the individual title became a PSN release the same time the collection was released.

So during the first couple years of the 360 it was awsome, Mirosoft was pumping out exclusive after exclusive after exclusive, but after that it slowly dwindled away.  Right now it looks like the same thing is happening with the X1, here are the actual first party exclusives for the X1:

-Kinect Sports Rivals...idk how many X1s that's gonna sell.

-Forza Motorsport 5-Microsoft's big racing app for the next gen, great that its coming from a first party studio.

-Killer Instinct-Idk if you can include this game under a first party title because its not being made by Rare, its being made by a third party studio, so this one is pretty much up in the air.

That is it, that is all of Microsoft's first party games for the X1.  Remedy is not owned by Microsoft, therefore they are not a first party studio, therefore Quantum Break is not a first party game.  They also don't own Epic Games.  Everything else is third party, and you have to think how long can they just keep buying out third party games.  With the increased cost of the games to make and how hard it is for Microsoft and Sony to actually turn a profit, I don't think they can keep it up forever.  Especially when you consider Microsoft is selling the X1 at a loss, which means its gonna be even harder to turn a profit, which means less money to spend on third party games.  So what do you guys think, are we seeing history repeat itself or will the exclusves keep coming for the whole life of the X1.

Yes it is, it's using MS's L.A Studio and Remedy and MS have said it's firsty party.

Plenty of third party exclusives stayed that way as well, Alan Wale, Gears, Conviction.

Well Sony said all their first party studios are making PS4 games, I don't think Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Impact Games or Guerilla Games are making arcade games.

Well, considering that Sony is greatly padding their 20 games with 3rd party indie titles, it really all comes down to how much weight you would put into those as opposed to retail offerings. I consider everything equal, but my beliefs are far from universal.

Doesn't change that your thread sounds like a defense mechanism

The same people that bought a Kinect for 360 to play Kienct Sports......the trick is to recognize that other demographics exist outside our own, whether or not you think they matter.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Heavy Rain, Beyond or The Dark Sorcerer ain't First Party either. There's a difference between being First/Third and Second party. Most of the examples you've mentioned are second party!

Well both MS and Nintendo have shown a tendency to cut and run to the next generation a bit too quickly when it comes to software development. But with generations lasting as long as they do now you can't really say that the Ninty or MS from now will be the same as the one 5 years in the future so even if you look at how they historically treat the tail end of a console generation that doesn't necessarily tell you too much.

I'm going to go with, yes, both companies will continue the trend they've shown so far, with the stipulation that I could easily be wrong if they notice that this is an issue.

I'd be curious to see the bolded confirmed since the last I heard an exec was saying that all of those 20 games were developed by SCE.  Seems similar to when people were assuming that Disney dance game was one of MS's exclusives they were counting.

...

I hope not.
The first two years of XB1 exclusives look pretty damn solid

It's just that simple.

And no one said they were making arcade title. However when either company give us numbers they are just that numbers. Just because Sony has 20 games in development doesn't mean they are all AAA titles. It also doesn't mean they are all arcade titles.

Remember when Microsoft said they have 15 games in developmet and 8 of them were new IP's. How many people jumped on the Halo, Gears, Forza, and Kinect band wagon?

Then we found out Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, Qauntom Break, Sunset Overdrive,  Killer Instinct, and Project Spark were all real things. All I am saying is lets not use some numbers as a dick measuring contest until we find out what those numbers mean.
