Forums - Microsoft - Will The X1's Exclusives Dwindle Away?

So during the first couple years of the 360 it was awsome, Mirosoft was pumping out exclusive after exclusive after exclusive, but after that it slowly dwindled away.  Right now it looks like the same thing is happening with the X1, here are the actual first party exclusives for the X1:

-Kinect Sports Rivals...idk how many X1s that's gonna sell.

-Forza Motorsport 5-Microsoft's big racing app for the next gen, great that its coming from a first party studio.

-Killer Instinct-Idk if you can include this game under a first party title because its not being made by Rare, its being made by a third party studio, so this one is pretty much up in the air.

That is it, that is all of Microsoft's first party games for the X1.  Remedy is not owned by Microsoft, therefore they are not a first party studio, therefore Quantum Break is not a first party game.  They also don't own Epic Games.  Everything else is third party, and you have to think how long can they just keep buying out third party games.  With the increased cost of the games to make and how hard it is for Microsoft and Sony to actually turn a profit, I don't think they can keep it up forever.  Especially when you consider Microsoft is selling the X1 at a loss, which means its gonna be even harder to turn a profit, which means less money to spend on third party games.  So what do you guys think, are we seeing history repeat itself or will the exclusves keep coming for the whole life of the X1.

I hope not. I'm sure they have the creativity to keep them coming. Microsoft seem to have a decent amount of studios. But i don't really expect them to keep exclusives for some reason.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

If it is published by microsoft, it is considered part of their first party offerings. Sometimes they are referred to as second party. Still, you need to include all games published under microsoft as first party.

No. Should grow just like with the PS3.

I don't think so but only time will tell.

Halo 5 is coming
Ryse is an exclusive 2nd party title
Quantum Break as well

Plus there are plenty that stand a good chance of never coming out on a Sony/Nintendo platform.

Below
Sunset Overdrive
Project Spark
Lococycle
Crimson Dragon
D4
Fantasia

As for the future, who knows. They are off to an amazing start in the exclusives department though. Unlike the 360, a lot of these games seem like actual MS published exclusives and not timed 1 year exclusives. Plus they have more to show. They said there will be a bigger emphasis on games and there has been thus far.
