Forums - Microsoft - Kotaku: "I Finally Got My Hands On The Xbox One. Hmm."

Isn't that what people want? Prettier graphix? Moar Ram? Less frame-rate issues? Isn't that what next-gen means to most people anyway?

The fact that this man is questioning that the change between Xbox -> Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 -> Xbox One isn't the same (in leap, I mean) makes me feel he doesn't get it right. Maybe he's been spoiled too much with his PC.

Most games coming out early in a consoles life cycle won't feel next gen. But I trust Crytek to put out a good game, just think it could be worse and this game could be only for Kinect : (. I just wish I could grab a Xbox One at launch.

As has been commented on extensively on Kotaku, there wasn't a huge difference between Xbox and Xbox 360 games. Considering that Kameo was originally an Xbox game, just proves that point. Likewise the EA sports titles disappointingly were at best only slightly better than their Xbox counter parts. Often with fewer features.

It wasn't until about 2007 when the power of the console really shined through.

I do think there is so much more to the console than what we've seen.  I hate the fact that information about the console trickles out.

With the Xbox 360 launch, Microsoft dumped everything about the console out on the public.  With the Xbox One launch, it's like an old guy with a enlarged prostate and UTI trying to piss.  It's like it hurts Microsoft to let go of their secrets.

I get what he is saying about Killer Instincts. I wish they had let them try Forza or Dead Rising 3.

Nice to hear good news about Ryse: Son of Rome. It looks spectacular to me, glad to know it will also be fun.

It seems like most of the great games aren't coming out till 2014.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

In summary, he was impressed by the system but didn't feel next gen. I can say the same thing about all the next gen systems at this point.

I don't agree with your Kameo example, though. That game rendered over fifty-one hundred enemies at once without issues, while also loading a huge map to explore.

I remember when PS3 and X360 first came out there were complaint's about how the beginning games models look like shiny PS2 model's.

I dislike saying positive stuff about the One, but that moment should be sooner for it because of the familiar architecture. Expect to see more games using full power sooner.

Don't know about Ryse gameplay, but it sure looked next gen to me.

Not really, since you've not played at least 2 of them (well, unless you went to E3 ;o)

I'm just going off his point of view. If the X1 doesn't feel next gen, neither will the WiiU or Ps4 at this point to him.
