This is partly true. There are/were great games this generation

| pezus said: Graphics aren't everything, of course. It's just that I'm used to seeing a more dramatic step up from one generation to the next. When the original Xbox gave way to the Xbox 360, there was no mistaking one system's games for the other's. Even the worst Xbox 360 launch titles were distinctively Xbox 360 games, plastic-looking textures and all. |
This just aint true. Some of the 360 launch titles actually looked worse than original xbox games. Compare Perfect Dark to Chronicles of Riddick or Doom 3 or Ninja Gaiden.
I'm actually kind of impressed by the launch titles for these new systems. They don't look like a huge leap but atleast they don't look like no leap at all the way the 360 launch titles did.
I think a lot of people are going to be disappoint in next gen graphics for launch anyways.
It just isn't the leap that lhe last gen was (PS2 to PS3).
It's just that simple.
He needs to use the Kinect 2 cause that is what MS has spent so much of their time and effort working on.
I had that feeling until Gears of War came out, so this is natural. I'm sure the second year games will give us that 'leap'.
Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
I think we will all have similar impressions early next gen. It will take a while for the X1 and PS4 to have their 'Gears of War' moments. Until then, console gamers can just enjoy what PC gamers have had for so long: 1080p @ 60fps in current gen games.
Maybe I am more easily impressed, but I've seen a few games where the lighting and textures make me see "next generation graphical capabilities".

I'd say 2006 actually (Gears) |
Same here.
Gotham was the prettiest launch game for me but Gears one year later was the one that really made me a believer.

"Dead" is more fitting, I would think. Completely sarcastic.
OT: It's nice that you bolded the parts that matter, Pezus. (If that was you.) It really streamlines the ramblings of this man.
