Except it is infinitely easier to block porn than it is stopping a chld playing violent games.

You would be surprised. It could go either way in todays world. You would be surprised how many parents either dont know how to tell their kid no, or dont understand technology enough to control parental controls. Kids capitalize on the fact that the have the edge over their parents.

Here's a (probably incomplete) list of additional types of content that will be filtered out by default:

  • violence
  • extremism
  • terrorism
  • anorexia and eating disorders
  • suicide
  • alcohol
  • smoking
  • web forums
  • esoteric material
  • web-blocking circumvention tools

this happened cause prince William and Kate don't want their royal baby to view any porn as he grows up, so with their "royal" influences they made the government of UK to put this ban up.

No, seriously, some of those filters are "ok" but blocking others like "web forums" and "esoteric material" are just as BS as blocking Porn Sites.

The funny thing is, in order to block all porn they would have to block a ton of movies too because porn sites often use celebrities and movies and tv shows as porn as well. So really I do not know how they could block all porn without blocking all of HBO tv shows lol. Of course they are against the pirating and stuff but that still has not been crushed.

It should be the responsibility of the parents to restrict the internet access of their children accordingly. We have programs especially for that since over a decade. I'm pretty sure appropriate apps also exist. Blocking the content for every citizen because some parents can't be bothered to show any interest in what their kids are doing on the internet is just sad.

Some parents don't have the time/computer skills to monitor their kids internet usage. I'm not even talking about little kids either here, I'm talking teenagers.
As a teenager I wouldn't want my parents over my shoulder monitoring my internet access. Teenager are old enough to have freedom but also young enough to have restrictions.
