The article screams bogus but if ever Nintendo does indeed acquire Atlus - it will be considered a separate entity much much like Monolith Soft and Intelligent Systems are - they operate on their own accord.

I hope they end up being bought by one of the big three. I believe this is the only way they keep developing console titles nowadays. Otherwise they will be limited to develop mobiles (PSV/3DS) titles.

Nintendo needs to buy all these failing companies and create an army of reinforcements. Having Atlus, and Hudson Soft on your side will be no small feat.

Atlus remaining third party is not what everyone would want but it is what is best for everyone.

Oh God no... Nintendo buying Atlus, can you imagine? New Super Persona U (rated E 10+). They'd destroy that company, as 90% of their work just isn't to the type of player base that Nintendo directs itself towards. They'd be forced to cancel all their current projects and shovel nothing but crappy Fire Emblem games until they eventually just disappear.

Sony has much deeper ties with the developer. If any 1st party publisher should buy it, it should be them. Otherwise, the company should remain third party.

There are more Nintendo games that aren't little kid friendly than most. They did allow SMT4 onto the 3DS after all.

also, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, Batman Arkham Origins and more are coming to the Wii U.
