Dead Rising 1 is one of those games that got me so annoyed at one point I sold it after only having it for three days. Played a little DR2 on the ps3 and was better than the first, but still had annoying parts. So far the more they change from the originals, the better chance I will actually play it.

With DR 1 and 2 the game really doesn't become fun until you get your character up to the max level (level 50).

I had fun with the DR2 because I learned from the mistakes I made in DR1. When I played the original I didn't know the only save points were in bathrooms so after I put a good 4-5 hours into it, I died at some point and it only gave me the option to start from the  very beginning. Annoyed me so much I just said fuck it and stopped playing. The older DR games really needed a "more traditional" saving mechanic, which hopefully is in the 3rd.

Dying in the first game and starting from the beging is actually not a bad thing since you keep the level you died at when you restart the game.

I'm not going to type out "in my opinion" every time I judge a video game ... it is implied. I was trying to suggest that a time limit in a sandbox style game (which DR has always been) just seems weird.

I am aware that some people like this, but I just don't understand why. Time limits are great for games built around them, but the general idea of a sandbox game is to explore a game world at your own pace... not to just see parts of it while being forced to do 100 play thrus to see everything.

Besides ... time limit is there in a different mode if you are into that kind of thing.

It is a game built around the concept of time. In fact you're warned about this right in the beginning of the game. You speak like this was GTA IV's map size, but it actually was a simple but huge supermarket. The game was supposed to be played in multiple walkthroughs; that's why your experience carries on to every single playthrough you make. You don't need 100 play thrus. You can, in fact, do the main mission and rescue all the survivors if that's your concern; you only need good timing.

My problem is that time limit should be mandatory, and then put a different mode without it. Not create a game without what made the original one different and then put it as an extra for the original fans. That sucks. That means you're listening to the wrong audience to sell more.

Thank God someone understands my frustration xD

and me that thought we were playing for fun.... I enjoy a challenge every now and then.... but not the wall freaking game forcing me to do things on a time schedule.....

I play first for fun then for challenge and that's only with games I really like.... so before challenging me.... try to  deserve it ( talking about the game)

Dead Rising is one of my favourite games of all time. A game I replay again and again. It's not challenging, not at all. And once you hit level 50 you're imparable.

It is a fun game. A very enjoyable one. The time limit is part of its charisma.

well we'll see in 3 month how the game turns out o be.... for all we know we'll still have time constrained missions or events....
