Forums - Microsoft - Dead Rising 3 won't force progression, side story available via Xbox SmartGlass

Ditto

The timer always bugged me in Dead Rising.

Good that its changed, the design of DR was very dated and frustrating.

Awesome the one thing that bugged me in the Dead Rising games was the time limit. Other than that it has been one of my favorite series this gen.

Time limits in video games feel so dated. Glad they are getting rid of this. Game looks awesome, and it will be the first time I will buy a Dead Rising game at launch.

I know some of the fans are hating on this already, but to be honest Dead Rising games were never good, and major changes can only help it.

I guess that's a subjective statement, right?

looking at the fact that the game went from 2 million with DR to 1.27 million with DR2 I'd say it is a good thing that they changed things up.... I personally played the first one a little bit and didn't finish it.... I'm more interested by that game than any DR in the past....

and stealth in a Zombie game should be freaking evident.... it's almost the only genre that can make it intense by the danger and the need of stealth while allowing the gamer to break stealth and go massive bloodshed tarantino style.... it's the only thing that makes it different.... otherwise it's just another shooter with zombies instead of north Korean or Covenants or locust....

1.27 million of players > 0.73 million of people who didn't like the original and avoided the second one.

Plus Case Zero is one of the top XBLA games, sales-wise.

I don't know why are you talking about stealth. It doesn't make sense. It makes less sense when you're able to call airstrikes from your Smartglass. Dead Rising is different for a huge number of reasons, time-limit included.

And by the way, the main characters are useless with guns. Dead Rising isn't a "shooter". I mean, they can't even reload weapons.

I hope to play this game someday, but not for awhile.

The timer made the game. Without that pressure there is no challenge whatsoever. ...and no, an optional mode doesn't matter if the base game isn't designed around the timer.

Bad Casuals - 1

Thank God someone understands my frustration xD
