Forums - Gaming - X-Box 360 owners, why are you switching to PS4?

Coz I've always dreamed of becoming a proud Sony Fanboy and be part of the superior community of the best gamers, with the better exclusives, the company who cares about us gamers, the great and unhackable PSN with free AAA titles every month, the super cheap but super powerful console.

Ah thank God I've just realized it was just a dream.

Oh shit I liked that dream! It sucks that real life has no exclusives!

To be honest i had pretty much decided before the Xbox one had been announced.

Main reason is simple: They proved to me that once they got me as a costumer they dont care about me anymore. The first 2 years saw the release of many exclusive hardcore titles. I got my 360 for that and the lower price.
After those 2 years, exclusives stoped aside the microsoft pet series (halo/forza/fable/gears). I saw some of those old exclusives go to PS3 with expanded content, and i saw interesting exclusive after interesting exclusive on the PS3 as sony kept "feeding" their hardcore gamers with great games. Not to mention that Microsoft then proceeded to waste resources on pleasing casual gamers with the kinect.

In short: I lost all trust on Microsoft. The Xbox one reveal just further justified the situation. They are a greedy and arrogant company that doesnt care to please their customers, but to fool them out of their money. Sadly for them im smarter than that and wont fall on the same trap again.

As such, im through with microsoft and the Xbox. Microsoft cant be trusted. Even if they have some interesting games now, theres no garantee they wont pull the same stunt they did with the 360. They have alot to prove to regain the consumer trust.

Also, i was so displeased i got me a PS3 aswell cause it was making me sick to play on the Xbox360 after that Xboxone unveil. I got over it, but i only buy new games for the PS3 now.

I can't believe someone wrote my response word for word. Thank you good sir :)

You are welcome. :)

I am not switching, i have both xbox and ps3 and i will have the one and ps4

I 100% agree with this, and this is exactly how I feel.

Not to insult MS fanboys (which I've been accused of being before ), but the One might have 1 or 2 more games then the PS4 right now, but did these people forget the last 3-4 years of owning a 360? Sony still supports the PS3, if you count the number of PS3/PS4 exclusives and compare to the One/360, Sony has more. So why are potential One buyings hating on Sony for continuing to support their PS3?

So just because One has a couple more right now (the biggest one, which is likely going to be a timed exclusive), doesn't mean you should go out and buy a One.

People need to think a bit before they buy. Plus, lets not forget 1st gen 360 reliability. I'm surprised more people aren't holding off.

I did the majority of my gaming on the 360. Will be doing the majority on PS4.

I will eventually own both, though.

Both? There are 3 next gen consoles....

Well this gen I owned all of the Big three. however this time around I will probably only need to own a PS4 and Wii U to get the majority of games coming out for the 8th gen. I don't trust Microsoft, even though pretty much all companies are out there to get money, Microsoft is as greedy as they come, and they're customer service I found out recently are HORRENDOUS :'(

I don't want to support a company like Microsoft in any way.

Found out recently, as in this thread?

Yea, to give you an idea of how bad Microsoft Customer Service is, I've probably spent about 20 hours + on the phone with MS, on hold, or with an issue over XBL (right now I had an issue activating a gold card, and by switching the e-mail account, this gave my Windows Phone an issue, have to wait 30 more days to fix this because of the design of XBL).

I've had my 360 in the mail, off for repairs for 6 months, which is a lot.

I've had MS replace my console with another broken 360 console, and had to argue to get another console.

I've had MS overthrow my extended warrenty at Best Buy because they want to "repair" RRoD problems, to artificially lower the fail rate. Plus they sent me an unreliable original model, not the modern HDMI model (which I now have thanks to my extended warrenty at Best Buy).

I've had Microsoft tell me that they can't fix my 360 steering wheel because it was discontinues a month before I called, and they recalled all wheels from stores. All I needed was a power bar because my dog chewed mine, and they designed the wheel not to accept after market power bars, so....I'm out a $100 wheel which I bought only the year prior.

and I've also had 2/3 of my controllers break in 5 years, and my third one opens up when you squeeze it and makes a terrible noise.....I've never seen beuild quality that bad before. Plus the usualy problems of PS+ being better then XBLG, Halo servers not allowing me to play games with friends when every other game is okay, and Achievements designed to require an XBL subscription, or the purchase of another game new to get everything.....

I only mentioned the PS4 and 360 specifically, not the One. So by commenting on the One, you're already outside the scope of the thread (but you're welcome to do that).

Anyway, interested in a Wii U?

I'm not switching anytime soon :) Xbox One day one! What I love about Microsoft is:

Xbox Live
Xbox exclusives
Xbox interface with Kinect (I have fun with the current one)
Microsoft ecosystem (I'm using a lot of Microsoft services/OS/devices)
HDMI in is also something I'm looking forward too.
I hope that Microsoft will bring back the Family Sharing (at least for digital games) as it is a nightmare right now with my kids (destroying all my discs) and the option to have them playing on my account for digital games is now out of the question (they suck online and a always using MY save games and using my items etc... hehe)

Now, I will get a PS4 eventually (my main problem with was PS3 the controller but I like what Sony did with the new one) and for the exclusives obviously :)

Not until there is a Fire Emblem and a Legend of Zelda. Wind Waker doesnt count.
