The X360, for the first 3-4 years, had much more Japanese and niche games than the PS3 and Wii combined. It didn't help it one bit. It won't change now.

It did help them more than you can think. Not with the japanese, but with the westerners who like JRPG's. Also those "3-4" are more like the first 2-3 years.

There is nothing microsoft can do in Japan. They just dont accept them no matter what. The 360 even had its own monster hunter and it still got ignored.

So, still just barely.

I stand by 3-4, though. Consider Cave and 5pb (Mages) titles. Those have a hardcore fanbase, and most of the games will never see PS3, even now.

So how about buy one copy of Windows 8 and give Xbox One for free??? MS can earn money back from softwares, apps and Gold membership?

I know it's MS, and I know they did the buy Win7 lappy - get X360 promotion for students, but I doubt they'd ever agree to take such losses. That's a lot of XBL gold and software that would be needed to recoup losses. Way too much.

In fact, I was just joking.

There is just no solution for MS to solve the issue in Japan. 

Japanese used to support the platform when the original Xbox launched. But later the disc scratch issues and non-support of the softwares really hurt them. Xbox just has a bad reputation since the original Xbox and after 360 failed in Japan, the Xbox brand's reputation will be even worse.

I think the lifetime sales of Xbox One will be far less than X360 in Japan especially when PS4 will be launched earlier than X1.

Yes, it is difficult, but if you want to stay relevant in Japan, then you need to do those things.

Sure, now Japan in a whole hates them even more (this feeling being communicated to japanese fans overseas) given that the exclusivity was a gigantic lie and that people had to shed thousands of yens in a console that grew useless to them with time. Such benefit...

Yeah, the response they got was beyond disappointing. Sad, because they were on fire at the time.

So I doubt we'll see them go all out like that ever again. But who knows? Microsoft Games Studio Osaka is supposed to be working on a big JRPG, so maybe we'll get a first look at it at TGS. And maybe that means they haven't given up on Japan altogether.

There's no way. Japan just won't bother with the X-1. I feel sorry for the head of the Japanese branch. They're gonna just get blamed on everything.
