Did Nintendo market MadWorld? Nope, yet it sold almost a million. Madworld is one of their most successful games and it's a Nintendo exclusive game. Vanquish and Anarchy Reigns sold pretty bad on the HD consoles that are known for their successful third party sales. The Nintendo audience is limited but if they want a game, it will sell. I'm pretty much done with the 'its Nintendo's fault third party doesn't sell'. If a third party game on a Nintendo console sells bad, its Nintendo's fault. When a third party sells bad on PS360, then the game is bad? This isn't a fair comparison. W101 is a very niche game and doubt it will sell millions on the PS360, even with Mario-like marketing. Hideki Kamiya doens't make games that attract the mass.

Lol...

MadWorld sold 710k while Vanquish sold 900k. How is that "pretty bad" for Vanquish, yet MadWorld sold "almost a million", which apparently isn't bad? 71% of a million is now "almost".

W101 is a Nintendo published game....Vanquish, Anarchy Reigns etc. were not published by Sony or MS.

If 1 game on Wii sells almost 80% of 1 game on the HD twins COMBINED, then how can you call Nintendo's marketing a flaw. I didn't see Sony market Ni No Kuni despite the excellent sales, but there are also other games that don't sell despite the marketing, but Sony doesn't get blamed for that (Sly4).  This proves a non-Nintendo published third party game can sell on Nintendo consoles.

Certain games actually DO sell pretty good on Nintendo consoles like JRPG's (Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, Kingdom Hearts). It has to be something that appeals to Nintendo gamers. Games like Skyrim/Wolvenstein and other boring shooters don't appeal to Nintendo gamers at all, it has to be unique. So don't rage again when Watch Dogs won't sell, this is already known.

Skyrim is not a boring shooter. It's not even a shooter to begin with. MadWorld sold well because it  was a controversial game. It was bloodier than anything on the PS3/360 at the time.

Hence why 3rd parties don't bother with Nintendo.

Nintendo never markets anything until the week of release, or after release. They've said they don't like the idea of people seeing a commercial or advertisement, but then not being able to immediately go out and buy whatever it is.

Yup, just look at all the people who are totally not going to buy a PS4 or Xbone because they've already seen previews and pre-order advertisements for them and now lost all interest because neither console is out yet.

Nintendo logic at its finest.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

#wonderful101 if you will join me.

We need like tons of forums for this kind of stuff.

If you don't want to do it and just post doom threads that's cool. This cool game will just die at retail.

Is not  my  job to market this game.

It is not your job to talk about the game in anyway but you are. Talking on forums if people have not figured out yet is advertisement for games. The more we talk about them we get other people excited for games. And game companies put ads in the forum post here so every post you are doing there job. So if you keep posting it is your job. Now spread the word about this game.

Yet another instance where things get blown out of proportion. Nintendo doesn't even advertise their biggest games a month or more before release, so why should a much smaller title like TW101 suddenly get so much attention?

Becuase if it doesn't,  Nintendo loses money. They chose to publish it.

Again. Not my job. Besides  a small number of people  doing hashtags on Twitter is not gonna do a damn thing.

That's dumb, because:

a) You make it sound like if it isn't on Nintendo platforms, it isn't unique.

b) Then how come games such as the remake of Goldeneye, the LEGO games, or some Call of Duty games managed to break a million units (or more) on the Wii fanbase?

- Skyrim is a boring shooter?  You mean I've sunk 150+ hours into the game and I was playing it wrong the whole time?!?

- Yeah, Nintendo gamers really love them some unique games... if by "unique" you mean anything with Mario, Zelda, Pokemon or Wii slapped on the title.

- Watch Dogs is also not a "boring shooter", in fact it is quite a unique game that just happens to feature shooting elements in it. On PS360 alone it will outsell the LTD sales of the Wii U's top games by the end of this year (NSMBU and Nintendo Land, which are the only two Wii U games to break a million thus far).  But because it's not a minigame-fest nor does it feature Nintendo's top mascots, the Wii U version will bomb hard.

And if they advertise it and it still doesn't sell, then Nintendo loses even more money on the game.

Don't worry too much about this game. It doesn't need to sell a million copies to make money and no advertising in the world would push it past a million.

At this moment, I am praying for the damn game to reach 500k!  I hope it does.
