Forums - Sales - Japan Sales: Media Create; Famitsu & Dengeki (June 24th - June 30th)

This week is a pretty good sales week. Toukiden sold well and it boosted Vita more than I think anyone expected. I hope this bodes well for future Vita/PSP releases where most gamers pick the newer version.

Atelier is a downer, but it was released at an bad time.

Etrian Odyssey did quite well for a remake (especially considering it wasn't exactly a highly demanded move).

Outside of Resident Evil, what survival/horror games sell well?

Fair point.

Though outside of Resident Evil, what survival horror games sell well anywhere anymore?

Dead Space did well for itself.

It sold alright, I wouldnt say it did "well" though, especially Dead Space 3.

Dead Space did 3+ millon. DS2 did 2.5+. DS3 is just over 1.2 million. Certainly better than just alright.

Most other titles in this genre are smaller indie titles like Slender and Amenesia.

Why is there no Dead Space 4 in development?

Good Vita numbers.

Looks like the market as a whole has recovered a bit from last weeks' lows. The Wii U being up for no specific reason really says it all.

The 3DS is trailing behind its last YTD, but the release schedule of the first half of the year hasn't been all that great and the best is yet to come in this year. No signs to worry.

The PSV is the only system that is up YTD, but it's pretty much solely because of this year's price cut. No signs of the system taking off anytime soon, but on the other hand a long term presence in the market seems to be secured at this point (judging from the release schedule in BaldrSkies's thread).

Big releases don't have much of an effect on PS3 hardware sales anymore, so it's highly improbable that the system will pass the Wii in lifetime sales or even come close.

Wii U was always destined to struggle, because developing for Nintendo home consoles is beneath Japanese third parties. A fact that got further emphasized by Kingdom Hearts 3 going to the X1, but not the Wii U. Nintendo is the only console manufacturer left that still sees Japan as a tier 1 market, but that doesn't mean one bit to anyone.

I think MGS and Final Fantasy and Kingdoms Heart are the only games witch will boost Ps3

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
