Just saw World War Z and while the movie was great, the 3D was not...

3D in theaters offers a darker screen since you're only getting half of the light to each eye, its out of focus unless you get good seats right in the middle and is absolutely not necessary for a movie like World war Z.

3D for gaming still has some merit and some movies do benefit from it, but why do over 50% of movies today have to utilize tacked on 3D I have no idea...

When is this 3D fad going to die? I've been fooling around with 3D since 2008 and at this point I will at this point pay a higher movie ticket premium to avoid 3D at all cost.

i hate 3D purely because the picture is so dark. its very annoying

Animation seems to benefit from 3D. Live action movies do not.

Totally agree. Only action movies that benefit from 3D are Avatar and terrible movies that were made with 3D in mind like Resident Evils. Yet something like Wreck it Ralph was cool in 3D.

3d animation can be make, to benefit from it. But Live action will always add dept at best.

Dredd is pretty good in 3D.

I would suggest that with your preference, that you should buy a 3D TV ($300+) & 3D Blu-Ray Player ($50+), and just wait for the movie to come out on 3D Blu-Ray to watch Live-Action movies.

Over 90% of people in foreign countries love 3D too.

Next year seems to be around a 40% increase probably.

This doesn't seem to be fad, so watch Live-Action in 2D in theaters, and re-watch in 3D at home on your TV. Vudu & Blockbuster seem to already have 3D streaming, and Hulu Plus & Netflix are on their way. (a lot of these are just $8 a month)

So you can either stream 3D movies online in the near future or buy a 3D Blu-Ray.....whatever you prefer. If you watch live-action movies in theaters converted into 2D then that is fine, if you really want to see the movie so soon.

The Nintendo 3DS 3D makes everything more brighter & better looking. There's a 3DS XL (way bigger screen), and we are getting full 3D Movies to purchase from Warner Bros. & Disney & Dreamworks soon, and Hulu Plus & Netflix will have 3D streaming starting with Hulu Plus.....which you can download the free apps in the eShop.

I wasn't aware 3D was still a thing.
