All I want is a 1080p 144hz IPS, no ghosting, no high ms, 27' (maybe more) and definitely not curved.

It feels like the monitors we keep seeing are those still geared towards a specific group, rather than manufacturers making all types and sorts to cover as many angles possible.

That's because most headlines only comr from a very small number of companies, and they are more geared towards the "gaming crowd" than anything else.

Asus, Acer and AOC (funny that they all start with A) do that, and the looks of their monitors reflect that mentallity. That's why I usually look at Dell first, which has a very wide range of products, and then go with Samsung, BenQ or Viewsonic. I also keep an eye on LG, but their panels end up in the products from other brands, and usually in equal or better products.

Oh, in my case, monitor size is key, because I don't really like big monitors. My main TV is 32", and I don't really understand how people can use something that big as a monitor, let alone those with 40" or even more monsters. I would be perfectly fine with something in the 25" range, and given that I'm using the 100% scaling option in windows on my 23" 1080p monitor, I think I wouldn't have a problem going with a 1440p panel even if that means going with a 150% scaling. I'll never go back to TN after using an IPS panel, but I think I could live with the slightly worse colours but much higher contrast of VA, and with a 10-bit panel, the difference in colours would be minimal if not non-existent. Lastly, I'm fairly safe when it comes to input lag, and I don't need a high refresh rate, 60Hz is fine to me.

What all that means, is that I would be perfectly fine with an VA variant of the Dell U2515H, and if I can have it for less than 350 € then even better.

Please excuse my bad English.

I just noticed the ghosting on my BenQ recently when playing Minecraft. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

To be honest, I am actually liking 1440P more at 32" than I do at 27". Windows scaling is typically funny and everything felt small on the old 27" 1440P panel.

Others might prefer 4k on a 32" display though, but I am fine with it, the PPI is slightly better than a peasant 1080P 24" monitor, so it's far from terrible.

Just need 120/144hz and 10-bit HDR at a good price and I am happy. One day.

Sorry, but you are wrong. The 93 ppi of your Viewsonic VX3209-2K are the same as the 93 ppi of a "peasant 1080P 24''-monitor":

But I agree with you, that 90 - 100 ppi are still a good density for Windows + games.

Wondering what the hell is happening in The Evil Within 2? This FAQ will help
http://www.pcgamer.com/wondering-what-the-hell-is-happening-in-the-evil-within-2-this-faq-will-help/
Bethesda released an Evil Within 2 story trailer last month that delves into the sad, sorry history of lead character Sebastian Castellanos. But for people who aren't familiar with the first game, it left one burning question unanswered: "What?" Fortunately for me and everyone else in that boat, Bethesda has come to the rescue with an Evil Within 2 Story FAQ.

That Final Fantasy 14 DDoS attack is still going on
http://www.pcgamer.com/that-final-fantasy-14-ddos-attack-is-still-going-on/
Square Enix reported last month that Final Fantasy 14 was suffering a DDoS attack on its North American data center. The timing of the attack appeared to coincide with the launch of the Stormblood expansion on June 20, and it was a persistent thing, too: It had been underway for the better part of a week when the report when out. And apparently it's still going on.

Tooth and Tail will be out this September
http://www.pcgamer.com/tooth-and-tail-will-be-out-this-september/
The RTS genre isn't in particularly rude health at the moment, so it would be nice if Pocketwatch Games' Tooth and Tail could give it a bit of a shot in the arm. You're probably aware that it's from the developers of Monaco, and takes the form of a "distilled" real-time strategy game featuring cute/murderous little animals, like out of Redwall. Tom Marks got to play some of its single-player campaign back in March, so head here if you're interested in how the "Mario Kart of RTSes" plays.

Bloody stealth-'em-up Serial Cleaner is out now
http://www.pcgamer.com/bloody-stealth-em-up-serial-cleaner-is-out-now/
You know that bit in crime films where, after a messy murder in a particular location, a character will make a call to a 'cleaner' who will tidy things up, no questions asked? You play as that cleaner in the aptly named Serial Cleaner, which asks you to spruce up grisly crime scenes while avoiding the cops. It's a little bit Viscera Cleanup Detail, and a little bit Metal Gear, and the whole thing is set in a bright and jazzy 1970s setting.

http://www.pcgamer.com/hitmans-july-update-changes-combat-professional-difficulty-and-death-by-toilet/
Hitman's July update has launched on PC, and as updates are apt to do, it tweaks the game in various ways. But before I get into the more serious sections of the release notes, I need to point out the bathroom fix.

Street Fighter 5 getting new classic stage and costumes this month
http://www.pcgamer.com/street-fighter-5-getting-new-classic-stage-and-costumes-this-month/
Street Fighter V is a touch disappointing, especially when compared to previous games in the series, so why not remind yourself of those earlier, happier days? Street Fighter V is adding a stage and three costumes on July 25, and they're all from various parts of Street Fighter's history.

Underrail Expedition footage offers nine minutes of RPG action
http://www.pcgamer.com/underrail-expedition-footage-offers-nine-minutes-of-underground-rpg-action/
You're probably already aware, if you're a CRPG fan, but Underrail—that's the isometric, post-apocalyptic RPG set on and around an underground train network—has an expansion in the works. The Expedition DLC is still subterranean, but features an underground sea you'll be exploring with the aid of jet skis. Also, there are pirates, as the above screenshot entitled 'PiratesOnJetskis.png' illustrates.

Ultimate General: Civil War exits early access
http://www.pcgamer.com/ultimate-general-civil-war-exits-early-access/

You can of course also engage in standalone historical battles at key locations including Gettysburg, Cold Harbour, Stones River and several others.

See the first footage of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite's Jedah in action
http://www.pcgamer.com/see-the-first-footage-of-marvel-vs-capcom-infinites-jedah-in-action/
A little while back, a roster for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite was leaked on NeoGAF, and now, Jedah, one of the Capcom fighters it included has been confirmed. And on top of that, we got to see gameplay of him and the Guardians of the Galaxy's Gamora during some exhibition matches at Evo 2017.

Nidhogg 2 is releasing for PC next month
http://www.pcgamer.com/nidhogg-2-is-releasing-for-pc-next-month/
The sequel to Nidhogg – aptly titled Nidhogg 2 – is a much more colourful and lurid affair than its predecessor. Personally I'm glad for that, because judging by this recent gameplay video it looks beautiful in motion. It won't be long before we'll all get to marvel at its grotesque splendour for ourselves, because the game will release on August 15.

'Soon, you will be able to design your character to a tee,' says PUBG executive producer

Tekken 7 welcomes Fatal Fury star as incoming DLC character
http://www.pcgamer.com/tekken-7-welcomes-fatal-fury-star-as-incoming-dlc-character/
With what is easily one of the worst videogame antagonist names ever known, Fatal Frame's Geese Howard is now heading to Tekken 7—the second guest character to grace Bandai Namco's enduring fighting series, following Street Fighter's Akuma.

Sadly, to prevent ghosting you need a very fast panel, so you have to go with either a TN panel or an IPS/VA one with a very aggressive overdrive, that can cause problems by itself.

At least nowadays there are TN panels that are much better than before, with 8-bit models that can look almost as good as IPS ones... if seen straight (once you turn the monitor or your head... well, it's a TN panel after all).

I didn't notice any ghosting until I played Minecraft earleir today. Not the end of the world but it is noticeable.

I'll be ordering a new monitor today and the other parts anyway.

A 2 years old monitor and you're going to replace it. Mine is a Dell U2311H, and the last two numbers label the year of that model.

If you've had that ghosting problem with only one game, maybe the problem is from the game, not the monitor. C'mon, you sould have noticed the ghosting in other fast paced games by now if it was usual.
