I hope Microsoft doesnt do this

I thought the Xbox One Day One Edition comes with a free year?

I believe Microsoft is just too arrogant and selfish to do such a thing.

A 2013 Bloomberg report stated that, as of May 16, 2013, Bill Gates had donated US$28 billion to the foundation.

What has Sony donated? Kaz? Your response is poorly thought out.

I've been told the same thing by an employee of EB Games.

Console Wars: Is Microsoft Preparing to Go on the Offensive with Free Xbox Live?

Time, as it always does, will tell if this new approach yields the results that Microsoft originally hoped for with the Xbox One and their broader strategies.

I remember reading somewhere they already confirmed Xbox Live Gold free for one year for all Xbox One's purchaces before 12-31-2013.   Perhapse it was specualation, there has been so much of that.

I can't seem to find it, anyone else see that?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Giving Xbox Live for free? It'd be nice to see, but with the amount of cash which the service has produced I sincerely doubt it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Why would they? Even Sony wanted some of that pie lol. Isn't the objective to make money?

Bill Gates is not MS, Bill Gates does great things with his personal wealth. If profits were never a concern for MS they would have never charged for XBLive in the first place.

Hmm, pie.

The Microsoft of today is a corporate mess without identity. It has absolutely nothing in common with the company that Bill Gates made.

If it was permanent, I'd buy an X1 for sure. I'm opposed in principle to paying for online play.
