I can see them doing a 3-6 month free trial of Gold.

I heard that when I pre-ordered my Day One edition I will also get a year free of XBLG. Was told in store.

Yes, but its limited for small quantity of Xbox One edition and it won't be available for pre-orders from every retailer.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Maybe hand out a month of free Xbox live with new consoles? but making live free........not a chance.

Check out my Youtube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePSXcollector

Giving away long periods of XBL time would just eat up too much of the money XBL prints out. Those cloud dedicated servers and Drivatars aint cheap.

Imagine if MS had retracted their DRM plans during E3. What a crushing victory it would have been. No need for crisis board room meatings and to try and please gamers with free Xbox Live deals.

Microsoft is not a giving company. They will only give to barely give back for now much they've taken away.

Maybe I don't get your post, but:
MS wants to get more [money] than give [money]...

SHOCKER!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

So obviously, this is a completely misleading headline, but as for the actual content, I think it is pointless

Almost everyone who buys an Xbox day 1 already has Gold, free Gold won't convince many people at all. Bundling 1 month of Gold isn't going to do anything either, since Sony will probably give 1 month of PS+ as they do with the Vita

A better idea would be to not screw people over. Remove restrictions like needing Gold for Netflix and stop putting adverts on the dashboard at least of for those that have subscribed. I am not talking about adverts for the marketplace, but adverts for "real world things" like broadband

What has MS taken away?

Wait... do they actually do this? Put adverts on your console?

Hmm, pie.

I believe Microsoft is just too arrogant and selfish to do such a thing.

I thought so too. Free year of Gold with the X1. So what's new?

We still don't know how many months of PS+ the PS4 will include.
