I agree with not liking the move to make a touchpad controller their mandatory controller for Wii U (much in the same way i dislike the fact that M$ is including Kinect 2.0 with every Xbone because it allegedly requires it or some bullshit), but could you clarify your second statement about the hatred you have for "thumbstick controls"?  Are you referring to the dual-analog setup that pretty much every system aside from the Wii has had as standard on their controllers for the past two generations?

Because it doesn't make much sense that you would dislike the touch controls AND the dual thumbstick setup, because these days it's one or the other... you're not going back to D-pad or even single analog stick controls unless your preferred setup is a Wiimote + Nunchuk, which tends to clash with the vast majority of "core" games released these days.

Because Nintendo fans need to justify their love for Nintendo. They feel that the Sony or Microsoft choice is what people do because it's what's popular. That's why they laud crap games like Pikmin or think Mario Party 102 is the best game ever but trash Call of Duty gamers. They feel that the games they like are faced they choose to like and not games they play because they're popular games.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Nintendo fans are the most likely of the four fanboy groups to criticize their own company.

First of all, why care if you're "accepted" or not? Just play the games you like.. I'm a big Nintendo fan but I'm perhaps also one of their biggest critics. They've made their share of bad decisions, particularly as of late. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I can't recognise this.

He who has the third parties runs the market and Nintendo hasnt had them properly for a very long time. To win a gen they must bank on mass market gimmicks. If they make an ordinary console they are screwed.

If such were the case, we would not tolerate several people on this board (including one singlehandedly carrying a discussion about graphics at this very moment). It's all about how the message is delivered.
