Forums - Microsoft - So with Microsoft seeing the light, any chance for $400?

So?

Yes 19 7.14%

No 189 71.05%

Maybe 58 21.80%

Total:266

Not anytime soon because of Kinect 2.0 but I could see a $50 dollar price drop pretty soon it all depends on how good early sales will be.

299$
but you have to pay 2 years of live gold

A variant of that might not be a bad idea. I have trouble imagining it being less than $399 though.

Shooting for the moon are we? Kinect is built into the hardware. The $500 price will still stick.

Hey ask anyone yesterday about the drm thing and people would say the same! lol

There was an interview a while back with the enginiers who designed Xbone. Some of the Kinects functionalitys are on the apu, and some are on the mainboard. It mostly effects multi media functions. They would have to completly redsign the system to get it to work without Kinect.

Try could try to pack in a game to make the $500 price more attractive.

I would say probably not. They might (big might) buckle and give a $450 version with a 150 GB HD now that games don't need to be installed.

they don't anymore? wtf? that means developers can't make the games with a necessary install in mind. that means games won't be as good as they could.

or do you just mean that the game has to be in the drive even when fully installed?

A price cut before release? No way. The internet would never let it go.

lol, I don't think the web will ever let this go either.

If Kinect is dropped MS can go to 350.

The games needs to be installed... same for PS4.

awesome, i think it would be horrible for developers otherwise.
