I don't think people can say that they were avoiding a "risky decision" here considering how many platforms they are releasing it on. It's pretty clear they want to give the game as much exposure as it can possibly have. Who REALLY thinks that each platform is going to boast 500k+ at the LEAST?

I'll play Fifa 14 on my Wii U by getting the Wii version. That'll show 'em!
