Forums - Nintendo - What I want from Nintendo's E3: Do you agree?

Firstly, I have been self-banned for 3 months because I needed a break from VGC. My ban has ended today, and I'm back just in time for E3! VGC seems to of had more issues since I've been gone with more fanboy wars and whatnot but hopefully that dies down soon. Just wanted to say hi to everyone again before getting to this thread's topic :)

Nintendo's E3: Do You Agree?

I believe that since the Wii U is Nintendo's first HD System and easily out-powers anything Nintendo has ever released so far, they need to step up all their games. They need to take all their franchises to the next level. I'm not talking graphic-wise but how big the games are. They should be filled with content and easily out-due their previous efforts.

1) Pikmin 3

  • Very long story mode with 40+ hours of gameplay
  • Co-Op option for story mode
  • Extended Muliplayer from Pikmin 2 with multiple modes
  • All 7 colors of Pikmin can be grown from the flowers
  • No more caves, instead, much bigger above areas
  • More strategy elements

2) Super Mario U

  • Story mode with 30+ hours of gameplay
  • Most open-world 3D Mario yet, Imagine Mario 64, but with the option to open every door from the start. Go through the game however you want. Not linear at all
  • Different story, still should be simple but bowser shouldn't be the main enemy, change it up a bit
  • Not Galaxy 3, whole different setting never used before in a 3D Mario game

3) Mario Kart U

  • 40 tracks with 5 cups, 20 new & 20 remade
  • Track design focused, only have 15 playable characters. Most advanced tracks yet
  • Multiplayer focused too with 6 local players & 14 online players
  • Glider & Swim gameplay from MK7 applied to MKU

4) Super Smash Bros 4

  • Change up all character moves, time to reset the moves list
  • Balance the characters and final smashes to make it more fair
  • Get rid of the story mode, go back to just playing and fighting to unlock things
  • 40 playable characters, add new ones and get rid of others. Get rid of clones with similar moves, add Sega characters and Goku.
  • Much better online
  • Much more advanced stage builder

5) Retro's Game

  • Either a completely new franchise or an old franchise brought back. Retro has yet to really impress me and they need to try something different
  • Very story focused and different from Nintendo's normal
  • Not a Shooter

6) Other Nintendo Games Showcased

  • Yoshi's Epic Yarn
  • The Wonderful 101
  • Wii Party U
  • Wii Sports U
  • Fatal Frame U
  • Donkey Kong 64 Remake
  • Kirby, Starfox, or F-Zero U

7) 3rd Party Games

  • Sonic Lost World
  • Sonic exclusive U
  • Resident Evil 2 Remake
  • Zack & Wiki 2
  • Silent Hill U
  • New franchise from a 3rd party developer

8) Other Things

  • System update to make things run better
  • Tons of N64 VC games
  • Extended Sega partnership
  • Haptic tech incorporated in Gamepad
  • 2 Gamepads can be used

you forgot earthbound u???

No DK64 remake, there is no point. Super Smash could use a story mode too, to give fanservice to people who want characters paired up or something. Plus, the possibilities with all the franchises are endless in terms of plot. For Retro, I would love it to be Starfox or Earthbound personally.

Agreed on everything else though. :)

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

I want X. I want all new tracks for MarioKart U. I would be happy if Retro's game had shooter elements. We need major third party bombs... give me COD: Ghosts, GTA5, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear to go with Watch_Dogs, AC4 and Batman which will surely be highlighted.

I agree with Pikmin, Mario Kart, F-Zero U, and some of your ideas for SSB4, and completely disagree on just about anything else.

Couldn't care less about Super Mario U, Wii U Party, or Wii U Sports. 3D Sonic will continue to be mediocre as always, so I'm not too interested in that, unless the third game of the deal happens to be 2D.

I wouldn't be for changing up the entirety of the Smash casts' movesets. Samus, Falco, and Ganondorf could definitely use redesigned movesets (Falco/Ganondorf for no other reason than his is essentially Fox's/Captain Falcon's). Other than that, I would be mostly for keeping old movesets and scrapping clone characters. Get rid of Wolf, Lucas, Toon Link/Young Link/Whatever it is for next game, and make the bigger characters faster. Outside of Dedede, none of the big characters have ever been "good."

Also please no Sega characters in Smash Bros. Sonic was bad enough.

At this point, I wouldn't be opposed to a 3 button system instead of a 2 button one. Perhaps 2 special buttons and one regular attack button. Also, preferably make the D-Pad usable for character movement on the Gamepad/Pro Controller. Some of us prefer that to a joystick.

New 2D Metroid for the 3DS would be fantastic, and if Retro's game was a Wii U Metroid as well, I wouldn't be disappointed in that either. TBH, I would be completely fine with pretty much whatever Retro made. A shooter would be cool, so long as it attempted to separate itself from the pile of standard "gritty" military FPS junk.

Some word on the new Zelda game would be nice. If that Bayo 2 trailer had some gameplay in it, that'd be great as well.

Blargh. No more Kirby games, please. Another Donkey Kong Country game would be fine, but we've had enough Kirby/2D Mario games for quite some time.

Not a huge fan of the remake ideas. Nintendo needs big new titles for the Wii U, and playing graphically enhanced versions of games I played ten or so years ago isn't particularly appealing to me.

Mario and Pikmin 30/40 hours? what? Those games aren't made for a campaign that long. You can expect Pikmin to be 11-15 hours with unlockable content and Mario

1) Pikmin 3

Very long story mode with 40+ hours of gameplay - yes
Co-Op option for story mode -yes
Extended Muliplayer from Pikmin 2 with multiple modes -eh, nice to have. Wasn't that impressive thoug
All 7 colors of Pikmin can be grown from the flowers -no, oversimplification may dull level design
No more caves, instead, much bigger above areas -eh, just less caves would be fine
More strategy elements

2) Super Mario U
Story mode with 30+ hours of gameplay - yes, but an actual story less focused on stars
Most open-world 3D Mario yet, Imagine Mario 64, but with the option to open every door from the start. Go through the game however you want. Not linear at all -don't really care that much
Different story, still should be simple but bowser shouldn't be the main enemy, change it up a bit
Not Galaxy 3, whole different setting never used before in a 3D Mario game - yes

3) Mario Kart U

40 tracks with 5 cups, 20 new & 20 remade - yes
Track design focused, only have 15 playable characters. Most advanced tracks yet - yes
Multiplayer focused too with 6 local players & 14 online players - yes
Glider & Swim gameplay from MK7 applied to MKU - don't care either way

4) Super Smash Bros 4

Change up all character moves, time to reset the moves list - no, worst thing you can do to a fighting game
Balance the characters and final smashes to make it more fair - yes.... to a degree.
Get rid of the story mode, go back to just playing and fighting to unlock things, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
40 playable characters, add new ones and get rid of others. Get rid of clones with similar moves, add Sega characters and Goku. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, adding goku would jump the shark for the series. Clones Are Barely clones since brawl
Much better online - YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, with 4v4 team matches please
Much more advanced stage builder - yes

8) Other Things

System update to make things run better - yes
Tons of N64 VC games - yes
Extended Sega partnership - eh, sega doesn't have that much to be worth it
Haptic tech incorporated in Gamepad - Is that possible?
2 Gamepads can be used - Lets get 1 gamepad games established 1st.

Goku would just not be the right fit for Smash Bros at all. The story mode was good, too, they just need to make it more in-depth: the characters who have voice-actors in their native franchises should speak to the degree that they are able to: e.g. Fox fully, Mario limited, Link none. Have some sort of supervillain teamup instead of Tabuu and Master Hand.

For third party characters, Sonic should stay, Snake should go, Bayonetta and Pac-Man should be added.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'd also like 2nd gamepad support, along with the announce return of NFL 2K.

I agree with almost none of that. You're entitled to your own personal hopes though.
