there was an entire week of outrage....on EVERY gaming forum on the internet, before the PS4NoDRM thing went up.

It is very shocking to see people not giving Xbox fans the credit for THAT. Because fans aren't allowed to criticize, they only rationalize apparantly. What a load of BS.

Nobody is saying that XBox fans are not upset with the DRM issue, but there is no denying that the PS fans were the ones loud enough to get noticed. There are stories all over the place due to #PS4NoDRM.

And the week of the gaming internet going nuts didn't get any notice??? cmon. Xbox fans started it...PS fans just added a hashtag.

Okay you win. We all know that without the initiative by the guys at GAF and the big blowup on Twitter than this whole anti-DRM thing would have went totally viral and incited responses from the gaming companies and their top guys. Silly me for only seeing these reports speaking about #PS4NoDRM.

Actions are what speaks volumes. Not saying you don't like something and then not doing anything about it.

I'm pretty sure the places where you are seeing this are infested with people trying to stomp on the hobby machine that we love so much.

Perhaps. I don't visit console-specific sites, so it may be that Xbox enthusiast forums are aflame with rage much in the way that if you are on a generic political forum everyone tends marches in lockstep like mindless partisans but if you head over to Democratic Underground, you'll see Obama being torn a new one.

All I can say is - and yes, this is a generalization because it is impossible to speak of groups of people without generalizing - the vibe I'm getting from the Xbox community at large is one of apathy and more than a little Stockholm syndrome.

Well, for one thing, I am allowed to change perspective on things, now that the initial reactions and emotions have died down in me and can properly think about it.

No doubt Sony fans were having fun with it, but even I can't seriously say they were the only ones.

lol ok my take on it is that the stance people are taking or claim they are taking on this issue seems to change depending on whatever the context is...

before it was convenient to blame all of the criticism on sony fans...

but now it isn't so now all of a sudden they weren't responsible

Its like your saying that MS and Sony had 0 idea until the twitter thing happened.

The entire week post reveal got the attention of real world media and business analysts, and offcourse MS themselves.

You are seeing the reports about #PS4NoDRM because its current. The entire previous wee the Xbox fans did their part with again, every forum on the internet, even Xbox.com. To make the claim that MS and Sony didn't accept the gravity of the situation until #PS4NODRM is just rewriting history to your peoples benefit.

"Not saying you don't like something and then not doing anything about it." The entire week post reveal/pre hashtag was us doing something about it! How dare you ignore our actions like that

@Sales. I will say though, given that it's not on the Playstation, Sony fans would be more inclined to yell harder. Can't say I disagree with that idea. With all the domination gifs we've seen, it's not too far-fetched to think that certain fans are just eager for any opportunity to kick the competing company in the nuts while it's down.

Sad fucking day if this goes through. If people contemplate reselling the game because it has no replay value or a short ass campaign, let them. Publishers and 3rd parties pushing for this are just going tp encourage piracy If anything, and the only games to ever sell would be cod and FIFA, pretty much stifling the creativity and making it all the riskier to release any IPs that may be only single player based. Retarded idea imo.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I feel that I shouldn't make any assumption before they release their final statement and I won't keep my hopes up because I don't wanna get my feelings wrecked by MS. They're not good are delivering what their fans like. They spent billions in games but they can't spend a diminute fraction of that to revive or make sequels to Killer Instinct, Conker, Perfect Dark, Alan Wake, Crimson Skies and take over the gaming market?

Yet what response did MS give those people? Hell, other than Major Nelson giving you a "We hear you", what else have you gotten?

I'm not even going to bother because last week we were just haters and should wait for E3 and stop whining. Now not only were we not whining, but it was someone else who gave us the idea to whine. I also remember, not even a week ago people saying that Sony is just going to do the same DRM thing anyway. Now they aren't and I guess that has nothing to do with #PS4NoDRM.

Twitter blew up because of #PS4NoDRM, not XBox gamers on XBox.com. Want to see how I know I am right? Go google and let me know how many articles you find related to Anti-DRM that doesn't pertain to #PS4NoDRM. You would have known this if you followed the news. It even made NBC, lol!

You know what though, i'll let you win this round if you promise to stick to one stance next time. The flip flopping is killing me.

It really is tough for you to give Sony or their fans any sort of credit. I can see it. This whole ordeal is eating you up inside.

Edit - I am also not saying that neither knew anything about it, but at that point the message was so minor that neither side even bothered to acknowledge it. As I said originally, I know all sides were upset, but it wasn't until the Sony fans made a humongous stink about it that it got noticed by not only the companies, but by the media as well. It only took a few hours before #PS4NoDRM went viral.

I don't think it's too soon to start making noise about this. They brought it on themselves by announcing this and then hemming and hawing around and pretending they don't know what they intend to do. But if you wait until they finalize their policies, it will be too late.
