When Microsoft announced a terrible DRM scheme for their console, Sony fans (or GAF... same thing) took to Twitter to rail against the possibility of DRM on the Playstation. Where are the Xbox fans organizing to tell Microsoft not to do this awful shit that we know is happening?

This is what I think he is failing to see. This entire twitter explosion was for #PS4NoDRM. It was the Sony fans who initiated this whole thing and if things do happen to change, then it is the terrible Sony fanbase who should be thanked.

there was an entire week of outrage....on EVERY gaming forum on the internet, before the PS4NoDRM thing went up.

It is very shocking to see people not giving Xbox fans the credit for THAT. Because fans aren't allowed to criticize, they only rationalize apparantly. What a load of BS.

See that is a misconception that is quite shocking to see being adopted.

For every MS fan rationalizing, you have dozens that blend in with neutral gamers voicing their outrage. A MS fan can express outrage ya know. Don't assume the PR shitstorm is all from neutral gamers and Sony fans enjoying themselves, many are disgruntled Xbox fans, which far outnumber the few by comparison trying to see the bright side.


very odd to see this claim being made since from the reveal i'm quite sure that it was said a billion times that generally it was sony fans shitting on what microsoft was doing with this console

i'm certain if i look back at your posts you would have said something like that multiple times since the reveal

Well, for one thing, I am allowed to change perspective on things, now that the initial reactions and emotions have died down in me and can properly think about it.

No doubt Sony fans were having fun with it, but even I can't seriously say they were the only ones.

If you watched the internet reactions post reveal...you'd be wrong ;)

I personally can live with these "rumors", but I don't speak for all my people.

Nobody is saying that XBox fans are not upset with the DRM issue, but there is no denying that the PS fans were the ones loud enough to get noticed. There are stories all over the place due to #PS4NoDRM.

 

I also know that this place isn't the end all be all for fanbases, but I distinctly remember being bashed for having a negative opinion on the DRM issue and being told to wait for E3 and keep quiet until then.

Fortunately for us all, we did not.
