Terrible news. By this time next year, PS4 will probably be mandatory to get anything worthwile out of the Vita.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

as far as we know... sony only requires a vita control scheme (because Vita don't have L2 R2) in addition to the normal game submission for release in the platform. until we know more, your developing cost argument is BS. also MS has kinect and Wii U has that controller, sure they do not mandate (we still do not know nothing about MS is this matter), but aren't those in every console? will or will not be pushed to be used by devs? does those add cost to implement? is this the same as previous generations with proprietary peripherals? all yes answers and obvious no answer to the question above is the reasonable thing to think... |
As i say ive done it for PSP and PS3, its a days work tops. Even then youd have to be slow, just wasnt used on PS3 because it took over a 1 SPU to do it, which devs didnt want.

depends on the genre you are playing I've tried some demos over gaikai when it was still up and there wasn't much problems with playing Alen Wake or Dirt 2 that way, although these are more input lag sensitive genres. Turn based games ofcourse are the best case scenario though. |
Well I am sure they will sort it out

why? its not like vita just works around the PS4... stream from PS4 will be great... but not every single time you want to play vita you will turn on the PS4. And some games, are just best suited for handhelds, they will not release a (more expensive) PS4 version for you to play it in the vita trough remote.
if this really help to move HW, more reasons to develop vita games... i can't see a bad thing here...

Maybe Im alone in this but I dont believe that would be a good substitute
Streaming to Vita will be no hassle at all to devs. L2/R2 are on the Vita's back touchpad, something that is calibrated by the Vita and therefor doesn't require any control changes. The Vita also has a front camera, which may work for PSEye related functions.
This is an amazing thing for both the PS4 and the Vita. Vita will not suffer as games will still come out for it and people will still buy those games. I have a PS3, but I play my Vita at home quite a bit. Not everyone has a constant internet connection outside the home, or a fast enough internet/ping rate in order to fluidly remote play.
This should be seen as an attractive feature that will increase the sales of both consoles.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I think your right it depends on the game tho, but sure some games a touch pad aint going to feel like a trigger in those cases they will hopefully remap the keys to make more sence.
| eFKac said: Interesting that even though the PS4 eye should be bundled DF thinks that not many games will support it, I would guess the case should be the opposite since it comes with every system, otherwise it would be a total waste of resources from Sony, we'll see how it goes. |
In DF's defense... Sixaxis motion sensing is technically a bundled feature.
