Forums - Sony - Are retailers starting to shut down Vita sales? Pic inside.... So did E3 fix the Vita?

I wouldn't be surprised if certain stores stopped selling them, although a huge chain like Walmart would be a big blow if they did.

Doesn't look like it would be sorely missed on the market though

Dam shame deserves better. Needs that price cut, and a killer FPS hopefully kill zone. Still play on mine every week. Let's hope digital sales are doing the business.

Definitely needs a price cut. Has it had one in the USA yet?

Considering how much retail rent costs these days, they cant afford to look after a product that is selling in such low numbers. The only positive is that the boxes are relatively small...lol.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

No.

The supermarkets in the UK seem to be phasing it out. My local Sainsburys don't stock anything for it now and ASDA only seem to have old stock now (no 2013 releases). So yeah wouldn't surprise me if the places like that are starting to drop it. They seem to be phasing out the Wii U too.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

The only thing i noticed on shops is that Sony seems to have lowered the price on software dramatically. Uncharted 30, wipoeut and gravity rush for 20, etc.

It means your Wal-Mart sucks.

This time it is not my Walmart. Although my Walmart has moved the games over my head so that only adults can see what they have for sale. Kind of a horrible Idea imo.

I wonders what's the worse between this and being on my knee to check on used games

You could say

*puts down shades*

... the Vita has no *life* in Wal-Mart!

YEAAAAAAAAAAAH

It's just that simple.

No one owns Vita, so there is no one to steal the games, so they don't need to be behind glass.

I think retailers (particularly ones like Walmart, Target, etc), are grappling with the changes in the electronics marketplace. Just like music sections have drastically shrunk over the last ten years, traditional games sections are likely to shrink as well due to the influx of tablet & mobile phone products. I think ultimately it will come down what's selling vs. what's not - we may be reaching a point where in the next couple of years a handheld like Vita or a console like Wii U (which are shifting pretty small numbers), may not get 6 to 9 months (much less 1-2 years) on the market to prove it's a viable product before stores phase them out. We may be reaching a point where Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft have to hit the ground running with each launch or risk having its product banished.

Bah!
