Forums - Sony - Are retailers starting to shut down Vita sales? Pic inside.... So did E3 fix the Vita?

it happens, if the vita cant sell the reatiler will cut the rope of the weakest link. It's all about money

wii u better start to pick up or it will be at risk too

Wouldn't surprise me.

With PS4/XB1 also coming and PS3/360 going nowhere anytime soon other retailers will likely phase out their Vita/PSP sections in favor of PS4 sections at least.

We could always just go with the classic, "Well... it's WalMart... how much did you expect?" answer.

the target and the gamesatop I frequent have a pretty good vita showcase...the one in gamestop also has this big toushscreen display that shows current video game trailers;

There was talk months ago that slower walmarts where going to cut down on vita games

Yeah probably because nothing of note has released since Soul sacrifice and most people who have a vita will buy directly from PSN

not calling you out but that was less than 30 days ago. If this is a reason to give up faith in anything coming to a console, I don't know what to say. Its a reoccuring thing people keep saying with Vita which has had game after game really, at least one each month, only to meet "No games after____" Dragon's Crown will be in a week or two and the same thing will be said then too.

I wonder how retailers think they are going to get rid of Vita inventory if they don't even properly display it? Hadthe same issue with PSP and Gamestop. They never gave it any good shelf space and then when it wasn't selling due to bad space allocation they moved it to a mid floor shelf like PC games which then rendered sales non existant. Stupid if you ask me.

Greatness Awaits

PSN:Forevercloud (looking for Soul Sacrifice Partners!!!)

This has been happening for months, most of the retailers near me don't stock Vita anymore apart from the odd big release it kind of reminds me of the last few months of the Saturn life.

Well to be honest this thread is based on anecdotal evidence, my local gamestop has a full shelf for Vita software and a full shelf for Wii U software.

This is the problem when you take to long too act. Nintendo will likely face the same issue very soon, if they haven't started to already. Waiting until the holidays just takes too long for retailers

But Nintendo has E3 and until the holidays to fix their problem. After that, it is a little too late and will be hard to turn things around.

Sony also has E3 to fix their problem and remember a big selling point of the Vita will be you can play every PS4 game on it via remote play.
