You could buy the inevitable GOTY with all DLC's included for $40 instead of $80 ($60+$20), for example. |
Well, I will buy this day one no matter what.

Hm, why not sell the game at some point and then buy the GOTY? This way you even would support them twice without supporting their DLC practise.

Good idea !

Nope. Those who purchase it spend less money than those who dont. In other words those who purchase it get benefits, while those who dont are unaffected.

Thanks, I'm kinda creative when it comes to supporting devs but not their buisness practises

that's the reason why i say from time to time that higher game prices would be necessary for developers. development costs are just too high nowadays for a 60 dollar aaa game. that price doesn't work for the next 100 years, it's just impossible. no clue how that shall work next gen if games will be still 60 bucks and sales will be even lower the first time. if they could sell the same amount of games for 10 dollars more, all the dlc stuff wouldn't be necessary nowadays and maybe developers could make a small profit instead of a loss. |
For most developers you are right, but I think Naughty Dog are a well run studio, the Uncharted games reportedly only cost $20m to make, so they can easily make a profit on that

well, advertisement will also cost some money and that is necessary to sell the amount of games they do and maybe this game did cost more as the uncharted games but no clue.
but you are right, it shouldn't be such a problem for them. but especially third-party developers who have to pay royalties have a much bigger problem with that because they get less money per sold game.
i really don't wonder about all the dlc stuff we see nowadays. i'm sure publishers and developers would also prefer to have everything in the game they sell if they could get more per sold game. would be also less work for them to think about al the dlc stuff.
I need more clarification from them before i buy the DLC. As long as the "more story" isn't taken from the story only to sell you the rest later, i'll be okay with it. Still buying the game day one. But i never buy DLC so i need to know more about it. Could be like GTA4 where they added more but didn't take away. Who knows.
And the faster reload faster crafting and healing sounds like MP to me. I don't think they would jack with the single player like that.
| mtu9356 said: Why the F does it include faster healing/reloading ect.? Isn't it supposed to be partly a survival horror game? These perks would make the game easier. Smh |
Multiplayer. There is a multiplayer component that has still not been announced and is suppose to be pretty awesome according to devs at the studio.
Got the survival edition preordered!! I wonder if they will add this season pass into it. Don't really care because ND won't just leave essential part of the story for DLC. Also, didn't ND say they would not be doing any singleplayer dlc?
