I can't say. Drive Club looks more realistic but Forza looks... prettier? It has a lot more post-processing effects going on.

Forza = big budget CGI animation.  Drive Club = real life.

Probably Forza 5 really.

Important to notice that not only Forza has pedigree compared to DC but also that you have DirectX 11 on the XB1 side which devs are already familiar with. It will take a couple of years for Sony to polish the "PS libraries" for the PS4, that's the rate in which devs can better program for the PS4.

The PS4 is easy to program for...

PlayStation 4 currently beats Xbox One in terms of raw power and has a more mature developer environment, Avalanche Studios has told us.The Just Cause creator is working with each next gen console right now, and says that in terms of pure specifications and working environment, PS4 is the preferable console.

I'm not a game developer myself but I'll go with my guts on this due to past dev experience with Sony systems.

The development tools for the XB1 are more fleshed out than what's available for the PS4. Programming for the PS4 (compared to PS3 and X360) is easier since it's on x86 now but that doesn't mean developers have access to all possible capabilities of the PS4 right out the gate. It will take time for Sony to polish their tools available to devs.

Yes no more Cell or PowerPC at least, that by all accounts will make it easier all round for devs.

Both systems are getting plenty of development tool support from middleware, yes SONY for will need to continue to polish the accessibility to the PS4 and I think they understood this was key from the experience with PS3 and Cell, they are in new territory now with x86 but going by the vibe from developers they are doing a good job thus far.

Some info on the evolution of the PS4 Dev kit.

Gonna have to say Forza 5 most likely, more established franchise and developers.

They'll also probably have a bigger budget and earlier access to the latest devkits.

Just possibilities.

For racing enthusiasts, Drive Club. For your average game interested in racing games, Forza. Drive Club just seems to be targeted at car and racing enthusiasts over your average gamer.Drive Club  being only first person is a clear sign of that.

We'll have to wait until more information on both though.

*edit*

How do people know Drive Club is an arcade racer?  My assumption is that it'd be a simulation racer.

Here's an interview and from certain questions and answers, Drive Club is a simulation racer, not arcade style like some people here are trying to downplay it as.

Not sure if serious...

Evolution Studios never created a driving sim. Turn10 proved itself to be the best racing game developer in the world for the past decade.
I can't believe you actually said that the guys behind Motorstorm do cater to the racing enthusiasts and the guys behind Forza to the average gamer.

Why don't you bring up Mario Kart as well?

Most racing enthusiasts are also car enthusiasts, and like I've already stated, Drive Club plays entirely from the first person perspective, something that most people really into racing games are actually interested in.  As I mentioned in my post, I didn't know if it was simulation, but a report from Edge Online made it seem so, and someone mentioned afterwards that wasn't correct.

You can't really say as a fact that one developer isn't going to do a complete 180 and create an entirely different game than what they've previously created.  To prove that.  Polyphony Digital developed Motor Toon Grand Prix 1 and 2, arcade racers, then went and developed Gran Turismo, then Omega Boost, one of the best on rail shooters ever made, then back to Gran Turismo again.  So there really wasn't a need to be a complete douche in your reply.

That being said.  Turn10 isn't the best.  Polyphony Digital is better and depending on your game preference, Sony Liverpool was better than them.

about the same really, hard to say when they are both so photo realistic (the worst graphic style ever)

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

i watched the GT comparison and in motion couldn't see much difference other than the obvious different in pallet. forza is much more colorful to drive clubs gritty.

Well that's the best style when it comes to games featuring real cars.  Capcom is the only company that tried a completly different style in a car game with real cars in Auto Modellista it got mediocre sales and reviews so I doubt anyone will ever try anything radically different anytime soon.

I just perfer the graphics in Arcade racers, they are good but not ultra realistic. Games like Colin McRae and Sega Rally just seem better because of it. But i guess i just hate tarmac. But even games like need for speed hot pursuit, burnout, midnight club, blur and split/ second appeal better to me than any racing sim

Well I prefer tarmac racing, but I have a strong suspision that Forza 5 will include some off road races especially since Turn 10 helped in the development of Forza Horizion.
