Until we see more footage of them compared in game side by side it's tough to call, me personally I preferred the Drive Club trailer it shows more in car in game footage, also it's a new IP which makes it more interesting.

Forza 5 did look fab, the metallic paint on the McLaren is very good, the overall attention to detail in both games is amazing, next gen is looking good. :)

Forza 5 was in game footage according to this.

Yep, they're real. Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed in an interview this afternoon that the footage you saw for Forza Motorsport 5 and Remedy's Quantum Break this morning are running on Xbox One dev kits. Not renders or some other trickery, you skeptics. I know some out there were questioning some of the screenshots and footage from this morning. Stop. They're the real deal.

That doesn't prove they are in-game though.  It could have been in-engine which usually looks better than gameplay.  I'm actually betting on them being in-engine mostly. Both Drive Club and F5.  Unless I'm messing up what in-engine means.

*edit* he doesn't actually say in-game.  I'm sure developers call in-game and in-engine both "real"

They're car games. They look the bloody same to me. Hell, I can't even tell the difference between Project Cars and Forza 5.

EDIT: I mean Forza 4...

Dunno, forza 5 has probably just rehashed some of 360 models, driveclub probably built then from the ground up.

Either way they both look good.

So what you are saying is that Drive Club will be bundled even more then MotorStorm, becuase none of Evolutions Studios games came even close to selling a million copies by themselves unless they where heavily bundled.

No. I'm saying Drive Club will be the only option for a racer game in PS4 at launch... so it will sell close to 5 million lifetime... these first games always sell great.

And bundled is a useless argument... Forza just cross 3 million units due bundles lol but I don't say that is a bad thing.

Etho, dont take the bait

Chris is trying to turn this thread into a bundles war on the sly..

As a matter of fact no launch game will ever come even close to Mario 64 in sales and that game was never bundled.  Also none of the launch PS4 games will sell over 5 million copies since none of the previous PS's had launch games that come even close to selling 5 million copies.

Yes, it may not be rendered but the line between in-game and in-engine is a thin one it appears and while not technically wrong to say the footage is real, it appears it does not represent what the game will look like once it is actually played in-game.

Probably Forza 5 really.

Important to notice that not only Forza has pedigree compared to DC but also that you have DirectX 11 on the XB1 side which devs are already familiar with. It will take a couple of years for Sony to polish the "PS libraries" for the PS4, that's the rate in which devs can better program for the PS4.

Ok.. And..?

I really dont give a fuck

You seem to be really persistant about keeping this bundle thing fluid

ethomaz seems to have been captured anyways so that part of the convo can die now ;)

I dont think Evolution Studios has ever really did work on DX11 so it wont bother them. They basically said that there was a learning curve to the PS4 for them because they were so used to the PS3 architecture (even though PS4 is easier to develop for)

The PS4 is easy to program for...

PlayStation 4 currently beats Xbox One in terms of raw power and has a more mature developer environment, Avalanche Studios has told us.The Just Cause creator is working with each next gen console right now, and says that in terms of pure specifications and working environment, PS4 is the preferable console.

I'm not a game developer myself but I'll go with my guts on this due to past dev experience with Sony systems.

The development tools for the XB1 are more fleshed out than what's available for the PS4. Programming for the PS4 (compared to PS3 and X360) is easier since it's on x86 now but that doesn't mean developers have access to all possible capabilities of the PS4 right out the gate. It will take time for Sony to polish their tools available to devs.
