most of what was shown last night would be possible on the original kinect.. just saying

ps4 camera sensor is a depth camera with a dot field ir emitter, not just a standard camera (more or less the same as kinect).. again, just saying

a few more button prompts, would just do what kinect offers, as interface interaction goes.

Making it bundled with the xbox mean every developpers will make shitty gameplay features using it for the first year, than stop using it. Remember sixaxis on PS3 ?

Since I do watch TV the idea of Xbox being a smart switcher seems pretty cool to me. But then again I doubt I will be able to tell my Xbox to "play/switch to PS4" or "play Wii U" lol. I don't think they will have HDMI inputs on the box, only coax/ethernet for your cable/satellite stream.

So at the end of the day, if I own more than one system I still need my remote. But for watching TV and playing Xbox games, it does seem pretty good.

Also, microsoft was smart leveraging Kinect as a feature for APPS/TV etc. The value of Kinect has been established (at least in Microsoft's eyes), justifying it bundled in every package. Now, any game that they can develop for Kinect is simply gravy.

So what does pseye do better than what you can do wit h a few more button prompts?

Honestly, I don't like the idea of it always watching me. Yes private server or closed or whatever MS can promise me, I just don't like. I mean, my laptop probably already does it, why do I need my console to do so as well?

It also won't be such a killer app when somebody passes by during a family movie night and yells outs "xbox, find playboy" or "xbox, play porn" or the likes and it start playing some cheesy porno about some pale girl being brutally sodomized by two guys. How will you explain THAT to lil' timmy?

Dont understand how it relates to my post, but I will bite (later in the answer).   Regarding interface interaction Kinect is not needed (even though it looks techy to speak to a camera and it recognize what you said), because you could do all that with just pressing a few buttons, as I said.    Intead of saying "Xbox, go home" I would just press the PS/home button, and go to the home screen.    Instead of instant switch to netflix for example, I could press PS button and then cycle through to apps running (PS4 offers multitasking too).   In order to shrink the screen I could use the touch pad maybe?      It is not done in an instant (even though it takes a sec to switch in the demonstration yesterday) but, it can be done in few seconds too.

Regarding the PSeye 2.0 for interface interaction (without psmove) I dunno what it can do since they have not explained that, but the PSeye tech is based on eyetoy tech, which could track your body already in the PS2 era.  So If they getting better at it, I think there is a possibily of acting similar to Kinect.     Considering the device is being bundled with the console too, I really expect some similar Kinect (eyetoy 4.0) funcionality, maybe not as detailed.   But I still would not use, I think.
