Now that Microsoft has gone full derp on us like this, there is basically zero chance that this won't become industry standard. Expect it on the PS4.

If Sony wants to win over a lot of fans, they simply have to confirm they aren't doing this.

I'm waiting for Sony to say something, and for Wii U sales to pick up, and for the XOne to be released.

In short: I'm waiting until the end of the year. But it is most certainly not Sony to the rescue. We have heard barely nothing about the PS4 since February!

well, it will change nothing for me compared to what i have with the 360. my console i always online, my kinect is always connected and i never buy used games and only sell them with the console (or like with steam, i will never sell them lol). seems like i don't need another company to rescue me but i will still buy the ps4 as well still no clue which i will buy day one and which a year or two later.

They didn't follow them down the road of paid online. BELIEVE.

Just like there were leaks concerning paying for 2nd hand games from MS.  As people have said the ball is in Sony court to deny they will have a similar system.  Personally I do not see MS going down this route unless they have full backing by the big publishers.  E3 should be very interesting.
