3DS had ~2.4x the install base of Switch when XY released but it had over 7x the amount of pre-orders. I know it's not a 1:1 comparison, XY was a traditional new generation while Let's Go is a casual remake but its still pretty low for a mainline title. Hopefully it has a good ratio and strong legs. |
I guess the casual aspect plays a factor. Let's Go is considered a Gen 7 game. I think its comparable to US/UM, though that particular game was in a weird position, due to releasing during the Switch's first year and during the 3DS' declining year, despite having a huge install base already in Japan. Plus, the game came a year after the original S/M, which caused some controversy as consumers were confused of the purpose of US/UM.

I'm actually glad the game isn't doing so well, this will show Gamefreak that simplifying the game isn't the way to go.
The next gen will be very important for them
smash on beast mode, nice to seeing kingdom hearts doing some points too
Strong day for Kingdom Hearts 3. Same thing can't be said about God Eater 3... :/
Marth said: Unusual red weekly chart this time. But also awfully low. Four games with only 3 points. Holiday season and Pokemon can't come soon enough. |
Were they making a Switch sale this week? Any special reason of why so many old Switch titles returning to the list?

Sadly looks like huge declines in coming for mainline version of this game, I'll be impressed if it even beats resurrection at this stage(which is just a remake if I recall). Given this game was always billed to me as solution to lack of Monster Hunter on PlayStation, now that Monster Hunter is back, it needs to find new identity?
